According to reports, Puffy is most concerned with securing young talent for his growing brand.

Kylie Jenner, Lil Twist, and Diddy’s son, Christian are already rich and famous … but they’re set to become even richer –and famous-er — thanks to Diddy’s new television network. Here’s the plan. Kylie, Twist and Christian will become the centerpiece of the 24-hour music channel, called Revolt — it’s kind of old school MTV. They’ll do promos, appear on the various shows and build up hype with social media. We’re told Diddy is also eying one of Quincy Jones‘ kids. Diddy is actually copying what Oprah did with OWN, although that was kind of a pain in the ass for her. So the rich get richer, and the famous get … famous-er. (TMZ)

Geared toward all-music everything, Diddy recently said he wants to take a gradual pace at growing the Revolt line when it launches October 21.

“In the first 24 months we want you to turn on the channel from whatever device or site — Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr — and get the best music the world has to offer and real-time news and interviews. I am a marathon runner. I ran the New York City marathon and almost died. I tried to run like a two-minute mile early on in the race. I was crazy enough to think I could win. After seven miles I thought I would die, but I slowed down my pace and kept going. The first couple of miles with Revolt we want to run at a nice pace. The programming will be music, music, music. In 20 years we haven’t had the right kind of curated music done in the right way. It will be news shows where we ask the tough questions that when artists are on they know they have made it. It could be festivals or sponsoring a nightclub event. When you turn to this network I want you to know you will see music content and high journalistic standards.” (Ad Age)

Puff also said he believed Revolt TV could blow up to the point of being a renowned network like ESPN or even Fox News.

“We aspire to be the ESPN, CNN of music, Fox News if you are a Republican — we want to be taken seriously. We want people to have fun, but want them to take us seriously. ESPN has different genres of sports — football, basketball, track and field, the major league World Series and the little league World Series; they ask the hard questions; they give you quick clips with things like the top 10 plays of the day; news that’s thought provoking and evocative. We want to be the ESPN of music.” (Ad Age)

Over the summer, Puff managed to have a new partnership become finalized for Revolt TV and Time Warner Cable customers.

Together with previously announced distribution, this will make Revolt one of the largest launches in cable TV history when it goes live this fall. Revolt TV will be available to Time Warner Cable customers when it launches in the fall. This broad reach is especially significant for Revolt TV in gaining early traction in major urban markets across the United States. Envisioned as a maverick television channel with an emphasis on music programming, live content and a robust social media component, Revolt TV is scheduled to launch in Fall 2013. (Revolt TV News)

Last year, Puffy talked about the network aiming to have a fearless approach to what airs.

“I started my own new network. It’s called Revolt and it will be the number one name in music,” Diddy said in an interview. “We will play what the others are afraid to play. We’re bringing the soul back to music. So everybody check that.” (“The Today Show”)

Diddy officially announced his television takeover last year.

“The revolution will be televised. Today is a very, very big day. I am here to announce my new cable network, Revolt. I’d first like to say thank-you to Comcast, the Comcast Diversity Council and NBC for recognizing the importance of minority ownership in cable television,” Diddy said in a video. “When I was growing up, I used to watch television all the time and wonder, ‘Why don’t those people look like me?’ … So thank-you to Comcast, my hat goes off to you for being the first to step up and I would also like to encourage and invite Time Warner, DirectTV, Cable Vision and all the other distributors to come and get down with the get down because Revolt TV is bringing that revolution that television needs.” (P Twitty TV)
