Drake credited his new anthem’s inspiration coming from people’s lack of knowledge toward his actual upbringing.

The song speaks volumes. “It was about the misinterpretation of me as a person,” explained the Canadian star. “I feel like I don’t say enough and people have their own preconceived stories about what I’ve been through. I’m just sort of excited about that song. It means a lot to me and my friends and what we’ve done to get to this position.” “Started From the Bottom” has already spawned remixes from Wiz Khalifa, Soulja Boy, and Machine Gun Kelly. So does Drake have a favorite? “Not yet ’cause the official remix hasn’t dropped,” he teased. (Rap-Up)

Last week, Bad Boy’s MGK talked about his rags to riches story on Drizzy’s track.

MGK takes on the Mike Zombie-produced cut. “Now they say Illuminati is the cause, or maybe every one of y’all is lazy and I just worked hard…” Machine Gun Kelly is the latest rapper to take a spin at Drake’s latest hard-hitting “Started From The Bottom,” recalling his own journey to the top. The Cleveland MC goes in on the freestyle, no lie. Now that he’s earned his spot as a shining star on the Bad Boy roster, MGK wants everyone to know that ain’t sh*t changed – just the money he’s making. (The Source)

A couple weeks ago, Khalifa remixed “Started From the Bottom.”

So yesterday YMCMB’s own, Drake, hit the interwebs with a new track called “Started From The Bottom” much to the delight of fans. Well today the Taylor Gang’s own, Wiz Khalifa, returns with a dope new remix to the track. Wiz took to the interwebs this morning and let loose of his take on the new track, which he stated “I think it relates to all of us”, before dropping the track. Wiz hits the track running after Drizzy does his thing and speaks about his rise throughout the game, and do so in truly impressive manner. (Stupid Dope)

Over the weekend, Drake released the song’s glitzy music video.

Drake dropped his “Started From the Bottom” video on Sunday night, providing the internet with some entertainment as stars lined the red carpet at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. The video features an all-white dressed Drizzy standing in the back of a white droptop Bentley, during a blizzard. In other scenes, he works retail in a drugstore, flies a plane into his native Toronto and dances around in a club. In other words, standard Drake video fare. (Huffington Post)
