Dame Dash Or Dame Dummy? Karmaloop CEO Says Deal Isn’t A Go…Yet

Streetwear company Karmaloop CEO Greg Selkoe has provided fans with an update on buzz behind the business being sold to music moguls Damon "Dame" Dash and Kanye West.

Speaking via a statement, Selkoe said the Roc-A-Fella alumni are a part of other interested buyers in the company.

UPDATE: We’ve received a statement from Karmaloop and Greg Selkoe regarding the situation: “As we confirmed earlier this week, Kanye and Dame are among several people we’ve spoken with about Karmaloop. We’re having a lot of conversations and seeing intense interest in our brand.” (Four Pins)

Dame singled out a few publications regarding his alleged purchase interest of streetwear company Karmaloop last week.

Dame announced his interest in purchasing Karmaloop earlier this month.

“I got my own Netflix, but I started with my own content and it also sells music and it also sells clothes,” Dame said in an interview. “You know, you don’t have to put this out until Monday, but me and Kanye are gonna buy Karmaloop, so you’ll probably feel that by the time this is out.” (Hip Hop Motivation)

Karmaloop head Greg Selkoe addressed the purchase reports last week.

MTV News contacted Karmaloop for comment, and while CEO Greg Selkoe clearly has a lot on his plate today, he sent along the following comment: “A lot of people have expressed interest in partnering with Karmaloop. I have tons of respect for Damon and Kanye and for what they’ve done professionally, and we’re keeping lines of communication open with a number of interested parties.” (MTV)
