[We recently had Cuban Link on for an in-depth interview and it turned out great. We spoke about everything from Big Pun to his thoughts on Fidel Castro and immigration. He also gave thoughts on his one time friend turned foe Fat Joe which depicts the two not coming together anytime soon.]

1. Relationship W/ Big Pun

We came up in the Bronx on the corners from playing ball to doing the boxing things. He was someone I hung around with before the rap thing. We got into the rap game together. He took me with him on the greatest voyage of his life. Whenever I do an album there is always gonna be a song dedicated to Pun. That was my mutha f-ckin’ brother for real!

2. Mr. Serv-On Studio Session

He (Mr. Serv-On) was here rockin’ with us. I was there when they did the studio session and the video. He went to the Tunnel with us back in the day. Shout-out to Master P because that man did a whole lot of things for the game and he did it from the bottom up. Mr. Serv-On was one of the people that we kept it clickin’ with! He was lyrical with it!

3. On Trump’s Immigration Policies

My thoughts are a little controversial also because I am an immigrant myself. I am putting myself in the immigrant’s shoes but at the same time I have been here long enough in America to where I understand the American mind. Even though the immigrant helped make America more beautiful and it is the actual work of the immigrant that helped propel America to the highest pedestal but I understand where he is going with the terrorism stuff. I don’t know if it’s a good thing to go fully on it, it should be where it could be tightened up but the way he is tightening up is making him look like a real devil. The extreme measures are crazy. The way he is going about it is too extreme for me!

4. Thoughts On Fidel Castro’s Passing & Cuba

In a worldwide view he has to be respected but respect don’t always mean that he did the right thing but inside house he did a lot of bad sh*t. At the end of the day he is not liked by everybody because he did a lot of things to his own people. We survived on our own as far as being a Caribbean island and we struggled, but you look at the other side and the education is up and they have one of the best doctors programs. There is good things and bad things.

5. Coming Together W/ Fat Joe Does Not Look Likely Anytime Soon

Nah, last time we ever rocked or said anything to each other was … none of that ’cause it goes back to the streets and at the end of the day, the street things ain’t settled. As far as business, he doesn’t even respect anybody on that level, and he understands that it’s been too far. So if I go up, he is gonna come down. The fear is there. With me, it’s different because it’s personal, we got history together, some great history, some good history and some bad history. He knows what he did to me. I could sit down in the room and talk, but it’s gotta be a both ways conversation where you understand what I’m saying and that’s if I believe you. A person like that, I don’t even believe.
