San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has finally chimed in on destroying the NFL jersey competition. The controversial NFL stud reacted to his on-field gear turning into an instant must-own on social media.

Yesterday (September 6) reports showed off how much of an impact Kaep’s publicized national anthem stance has had on his jersey sales.

In fact, Kaepernick jersey sales are skyrocketing since he took his stance. The NFL Shop best sellers list shows the Kaepernick white jersey as the No. 2 best seller and the Kaepernick red jersey as the No. 6 best seller. The only player in the NFL selling more jerseys than Kaepernick right now is Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott. Over this past holiday break, Dreamville head J. Cole showed his support for Kaepernick at a live concert by rocking a jersey.

Kaepernick’s jersey sales had initially skyrocketed after the national anthem controversy went viral.

According to the 49ers website, the Kaepernick jersey’s sales were ranking in at No. 20 before his protest began. After the firestorm has made Kaepernick the NFL’s most talked-about rebel rouser as of late, his jersey sales have skyrocketed to No. 1 on the franchise’s website among the team’s legends including Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Steve Young, and Ronnie Lott jerseys. It’s leap from Friday when Twitter user Mike Rosenberg pointed out that it was at No. 3. (Complex)
