R&B superstar Chris Brown‘s return to Twitter is official, however, he left some fans scratching their heads with his one and only tweet coming out as a Latin expression.
Instead of making a series of tweets, Chris Breezy has kept things easy with a single post so far.
“#CarpeDiem,” tweeted Chris Brown from his official Twitter account on Monday. The phrase is Latin suggesting one should “seize the day.” The phase was first written in a Latin poem by Horace. While the original phrase is much longer, the abbreviated version is used widely in common language, but not usually seen on Twitter. While some fans might be impressed that the artist is thinking more philosophically, let’s just all huddle together and hope that the entertainer doesn’t decide to use it in a song. The Latin phrase would be awkward in a lyric and it’s already strange enough to be used as a hashtag instead of properly spelled out. (Examiner)
Prior to its removal, Brown posted up a photo of himself and ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
Brown made no comment about his hiatus from the service that has bedeviled him in the past? or about his return, but simply posted a black and white Instagram pic of himself with a satisfied look and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth as Rihanna lounged in the background in a bra and underwear, wrapped up in a camouflage blanket. The caption of the picture was, “What would music today sound like if these kids didn’t exist?” At press time, Brown hadn’t posted any new tweets, and the only message on the page was, “Keep it here for all things Chris Brown, updates from the tour and more … #CarpeDiem.” The background of the page featured images from Brown’s current tour and noted that @chrisbrown hasn’t tweeted yet, with no links to his previous Twitter history. His Twitter return made weekend headlines on Sunday (December 2).
Though there are no new tweets to announce his return, Chris Brown has quietly resurfaced after disappearing from Twitter following an ugly exchange with TV producer Jenny Johnson. Oddly, though some tweets have been deleted, several of the most vulgar are intact. We’re not sure what message Brown or his management is trying to send by reactivating his account, but the presence of the Jenny Johnson tweets seems to show an apology isn’t likely — not that we were expecting one. At least Team Breezy is happy. (Twitchy)
He initially pulled the plug on social networking just a week ago.
“I look old as (expletive)! I’m only 23…,” Brown wrote. Johnson, who has more than 308,000 followers, replied: “I know! Being a worthless piece of (expletive) can really age a person.” Her comment was retweeted more than 3,400 times. That set off Brown, who’s gained a reputation as a hothead after beating his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 and pleading guilty in a felony assault case. The pair has apparently patched up their relationship, and reportedly spent Thanksgiving together, although Brown continues to be plagued by the domestic violence rap. His latest Twitter feud with Johnson may only add more fuel to the fire. In response, Brown tweeted that she was engaging in oral sex with him, and later wrote, “Thanks HO!” when she corrected him about a misspelling. (New York Daily News)
