R&B singer Chris Brown might not have as much freedom as he expects when he departs a rehab facility to attend a three-hour charity drive Sunday (December 22).
According to reports, Chris Breezy must abide by strict guidelines which include possibly being drug tested upon his return.
We’re told Chris only has permission to attend the event from 1pm to 4pm … as soon as it’s over, he has to hightail it back to rehab. The facility is giving him just enough extra time to travel to and from West Hollywood, but that’s it. ZERO free time to hang with friends before or after the event. If he’s late to rehab Sunday evening, Chris is out … which would be real bad … because rehab’s the main reason he’s not in jail right now. You’ll recall, the judge in his Rihanna beating case revoked his probation, but decided not to toss him in the pokey because he was making good progress in treatment. We’re told the rehab facility will also be drug testing Chris when he gets back … so he better not think about blazing either. (TMZ)
Earlier in the week, reports revealed Brown had received permission to attend the event and would likely have girlfriend Karrueche Tran by his side.
The Kiss Kiss hitmaker is currently enrolled in a court-ordered 90-day anger management treatment program, but he will honor a scheduled appearance at this weekend’s Xmas Toy Drive, organized by bosses at the Brooklyn Projects skateboard firm and Brown’s clothing company, Black Pyramid. His on/off girlfriend Karreuche Tran, who has helped create items for Black Pyramid, will also attend the Los Angeles event and collect unwrapped gifts for underprivileged kids. (The Indy Channel)
The news came days after a judge decided to revoke his probation.
Chris Brown’s probation has been formally revoked by a judge in a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday afternoon, but he won’t be going to jail, RadarOnline.com is reporting. Judge James Brandlin decided not to send the Grammy Award-winning singer to jail for violating terms of his probation for his felony conviction of beating former girlfriend, Rihanna, and decided to allow him to remain in treatment for anger management issues. Brown is expected to come back to court in February for a checkup.
Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin cited details contained in an arrest report as his reason for revoking Brown’s probation for the second time this year. He ordered Brown to return to court Feb. 10 to update him on his progress in rehab. Prosecutors did not request that Brown be sent to jail during Monday’s hearing. (ABC News)
Details of Chris Breezy’s 90-day rehab sentence sprouted online in mid-November following a court appearance.
A judge ordered Chris Brown on Wednesday to spend three months in rehab after reading a report that said a facility discharged the R&B singer because he threw a rock through his mother’s car window. Superior Court Judge James Brandlin also added additional rules for Brown in the coming months, requiring him to perform at least 24 hours of community labor a week and to submit to drug testing as he deals with anger management issues. Brown and his attorney agreed to the terms, which were suggested by probation officials who are overseeing Brown’s sentence for his 2009 beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna. (USA Today)
