R&B singer Chris Brown recently talked about his stint behind bars for an assault case and discussed the widespread coverage of him packing on extra pounds during the bid.
According to Chris Breezy, he gained over 30 pounds in jail.
“My normal weight is like 180,” he said. “I was 215 when I got out of jail. After that I was so conscious, I couldn’t even fit my jeans, none of my clothes. I was scared to go out, I was like ‘Man, people gonna see me, I look fat.’ So after a while, I went and played a lot of basketball, a lot of cardio. Then I did the ‘New Flame’ video, we rehearsed for that, the BET Awards, couple other shows. I was just always dancing, always dancing, trying to get my body back in shape.” (Extra TV)

The music superstar also delved into what lesson he took away from the experience.
“[It was] a humbling experience,” he said about serving time in jail. “It was definitely one of the things I’ll never forget. I think for me, it’s now about what’s the purpose and what’s the goal that Chris Brown as a person and Chris Brown as an artist is trying to portray. And with me, it’s always been positivity, but now it’s more of not just speaking it into existence but actually doing it.” (Extra TV)
Recently, Brown said he was most concerned with his family and star-studded music career following the stint.
“I just feel positive about life in general. Whatever happens will happen, and God has me. I’m going to keep my faith and be focused on my family, friends, fans and music. And from there just be the best Chris Brown I can be.” (Billboard)
Chris Breezy issued an open apology during a September 1 court appearance.
Brown pled guilty to misdemeanor assault and was sentenced to time served. He previously spent two days in a D.C. jail in this case.
During his court appearance on Monday, Brown issued an apology. “I would like to say to the court that I’m sorry,” he said.
Brown’s attorney, Danny Onorato, said that Brown had already been punished extensively for the assault including the 108 days he spent in an L.A. jail. (Rap-Up)
