In light of the alleged domestic dispute between Chris Brown and Rihanna, companies and radio stations have begun cutting ties with the accused superstar.
Brown’s new “Got Milk” advertisment is reportedly being pulled from all media outlets.
“The Milk Mustache campaign is taking the allegations against Chris Brown very seriously,” the Body by Milk Campaign said in a statement. “We are very proud and protective of the image of the Milk Mustache campaign and the responsible message it sends to teens.” (E! Online)
In addition to commercials, radio stations have also displayed their stance on the situation.
Southwest Florida radio listeners won’t be hearing troubled singer Chris Brown – at least not on B103.9. The radio station has removed all of the 19-year-old’s music after he was arrested after allegedly attacking his girlfriend, 20-year-old singer Rihanna. B103.9 says its listeners were outraged at the alleged assault and asked them to stop playing his music. (MSNBC)
Wrigley Gum has temporarily suspended their Brown ads until the case is resolved.
Wrigley said in a statement it was “concerned by the serious allegations” made against Brown, who was booked by police on suspicion of making a felony criminal threat. The company said that while Brown should be afforded due legal process “we have made the decision to suspend the current advertising featuring Brown…until the matter is resolved.” (Reuters)
Currently free on $50,000 bail, Brown has reportedly recruited a former Michael Jackson attorney.
Chris Brown has chosen Mark Geragos to represent him. The very same Mark Geragos who lost Winona Ryder’s shoplifting case and got Michael Jackson into a lot of hot water before he was replaced by Tom Mesereau. Geragos was so bad for Jacko that the singer’s child molestation case almost tanked. It was only when Geragos exited and Mesereau got into the picture that Jackson managed to avoid jail and win acquittal. (Fox News)
