Children of the Corn consisted of rappers Big L, Cam’ron, Mase, Bloodshed, McGruff and Digga.
The first two, Ma$e, formerly Murder Mase, and Cam’ron, formerly Killa Cam made it, but not before losing two soldiers. L, of course, was the Child of the Corn who wouldn’t live to see the riches that would be his. Herb Mcgruff is still around, I haven’t heard a new Mcgruff track for a long time, with L’s death Mcgruff seems to have lost his place in the rap game. Bloodshed’s life too was tragically cut short with a fatal car accident in Harlem. Darrell Branch aka the Digga has successfully moved on to produce tracks for artisits such as Jay-Z, J-Lo and 50 Cent. Ironically, out of five of the most talented emcee’s to walk the face of earth, only one continuously and regularly drops music today. (Angel Fire)
Late rapper Big L is responsible for putting together Children of the Corn.
Big L made the group, as he pushed Mase and Cam’ron off the streets and into the studio, as well as Bloodshed, who was Cam’ron’s cousin, with the last member of the group being McGruff. They released over 30 songs under the name Children of the Corn, as they tried for a record deal. They got paid any way they could, rhyming for local DJs and selling mixtapes out of their trunks.
