According to reports, the neighbors around his manager’s rented North Shore mansion have been terrified since Keef’s crew have spent time in the area.

Meanwhile, Cozart’s reputed ties to Chicago street gangs have made nearby residents so nervous that they follow his social media accounts to see if trouble might be brewing. They were particularly alarmed to see a photo Cozart posted before the nonfatal shooting this week that showed him and a companion holding guns in what appears to be the bathroom of the Northfield house. “We all knew that something bad was going to happen at that house, but I still can’t believe it is happening in my neighborhood,” said one neighbor, who, like the other residents interviewed, asked that her name be withheld out of concern for retaliation. One neighbor admitted problems have only escalated since their arrival last summer.

“It’s been like a parade of people coming and going since they moved in. … It’s like a clubhouse,” one said. “We’ve all been calling the police and it’s been a total nightmare. And they’ve completely destroyed their lawn by driving their ATVs back and forth.” (Chicago Tribune)

Details of a shooting from his manager’s home surfaced online earlier this week.

The house where a shooting took place in Northfield early today is rented by the manager of troubled rapper Chief Keef, said Viktor Mehta, who manages the property for the owner. It’s unclear if the rapper, whose real name is Keith Cozart, was present at the time of the shooting or otherwise involved. Northfield police said this afternoon that the shooting remains under investigation, and asked anyone with information to contact the department at 847-441-3842. No one has been arrested, a police spokeswoman said, but police said the shooting “appears to be isolated and we believe the community is safe.” (Chicago Tribune)

Reports claimed the teenage rap star may have been present at the shooting.

The “I Don’t Like” spitter was reportedly present during a shooting in a home on Happ Road in Northfield, Illinois that landed someone in the hospital on Wednesday morning (March 26). Keef’s lawyer confirmed with TMZ.com that he was present during the shooting, but maintains CK wasn’t the shooter. The rapper was taken into police custody however according to a report on Complex.com. (MTV)
