Chicago rapper Chief Keef may be spending his days in a rehab center for a three-month stint but that's not stopping a production company from suing him.
Details of Keef’s unexpected legal suit surfaced online early Tuesday (February 4).
Chief Keef screwed over breast cancer patients by bailing out of a Cleveland charity concert hours before he was supposed to go on stage … according to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ. In court docs, Kim Productions claims it paid Keef a $15K deposit … to perform at the RapCure cancer benefit last June. The balance — $10K — was supposed to be paid at the event. Kim Prods. claims the day before the event, Keef demanded a $2,500 advance to cover travel expenses. Kim says the money was wired … and Keef’s agent claimed Keef was on his way. (TMZ)
If Kim Productions has it their way, Keef will come up off nearly $30,000.
According to the lawsuit … Keef failed to show up on time … so the concert was cancelled and ticket holders got their money back … which meant the charity ended up in the red. The company is suing for $26K — the money it paid to Keef plus the amount spent on the theater, lights, equipment, advertising and the refunded tickets. It also includes an $88 charge for an order of chicken wings … called in by someone on Keef’s tour bus. (TMZ)
Keef caught some heat last month over a weed-based remark posted onto a social media outlet.
Chief Keef is supposed to be in rehab cleaning up his act once and for all. The Chicago rapper won’t be out until February. So, why then, is he sharing anecdotes about women stealing all his weed as if he’s actually got some on him in rehab? Wait, does he have some? That would mean he was sneaking it in because obviously, you’re not supposed to have drugs of any type when you’re in rehab. Apparently, the normal rules don’t apply to Chief. That’s not surprising though, is it? He definitely seems like the type to break the rules. “Dis b–ch wanna smoke All of my weed!” he tweeted on Friday. So, if she’s smoking all his weed, that means he has some and that means that he is either sneaking it in or lying about the fact that he is rehab. (Celebs Gather)
In December, Keef had to change up rehab locations in light of the media attention he received.
Chief Keef has been moved from a fancy Malibu rehab facility because the media just can’t get enough of him. Keef’s lawyer tells us the rapper is no longer at Promises … he’s been moved to another rehab facility in Southern California because of the “overwhelming media attention” he was getting in Malibu. We’re told Keef — aka Keith Cozart — still has about 60 days of court-ordered treatment to go … as he deals with his weed issues. Attorney Leah Starkman says since Chief won’t be home for Christmas … home will come to him …. arrangements are being made to fly his family out from Chicago. (TMZ)
