Chicago’s Chance The Rapper looks like he’s ready to flex some commercial success. The hip-hop superstar has hinted at an interest in selling a long-awaited debut album.

In a new Complex cover story, Chance acknowledges the temptation in throwing a price tag on his first retail album.

“I might actually sell this album. That’s like, a big step in itself,” Chance says in his Complex cover story. “I kind of hate the fact that I can’t chart, really. I can chart, but the way they have the stream shit set up is weak as f*ck. It’s unfair. And, you know, I don’t know if it’s— it’s like 1,500 or 1,700 streams is the equivalent to one unit, and that’s just, you know— that’s unfair. Nobody listens to their songs 1,700 times when they buy it, f*ck outta here. So, it makes it hard. I can’t really— I can’t compete with other people. Not that the charts matters at all, but like, come on.” (Complex)

Recently, Roc Nation’s Jay Electronica spoke on Chance’s explosive rise to superstardom.

“I love Chance. He’s our little brother. May God bless him all the way to the moon with blessings. I f–k with Chance because he’s somebody that’s out here and he’s using his music as a healing tool. It’s good to party and have fun but also we gotta have some real sh*t in there so I really value Chance and I pray God continue to bless him.” (Billboard)

A few days prior, Chance teased fans with a sneak peek at his upcoming Future “My Peak” collaboration.

Recently, Chance revealed rap star Kendrick Lamar‘s reaction to him having a huge Grammy Awards night.
