According to reports, prosecutors are allowing Ocho to trade jail time in for probation and anger management.

Chad Johnson will likely not serve a single day in jail for allegedly headbutting his ex-wife Evelyn Lozada during a nuclear argument last month — because TMZ has learned, he just struck a deal with prosecutors to keep his ass out of the pokey Sources close to Chad tell TMZ, the unemployed wide receiver agreed to be placed on probation and complete extensive anger management counseling … in exchange for either a guilty or no contest plea. Chad also agreed to a no-contact order that would block him from talking to Evelyn. As we first reported, Chad and Evelyn’s divorce was finalized yesterday. Under the deal, Chad will not serve a day behind bars. As we reported, Chad has been charged with misdemeanor battery in connection with the incident. A hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow, during which a judge is expected to sign off on the deal and make it official. (TMZ)

Prior to the divorce getting finalized, Johnson came to terms with Lozada’s separation demand last week.

Chad Johnson has plead not guilty to a battery charge in the alleged domestic violence incident with his wife Evelyn Lozada, but the former Miami Dolphins player has also finally granted her a divorce. Lozada was quick to present Johnson with papers following their clash, but he has been resistant until now. The divorce isn’t final yet, but he has reportedly agreed to break their bond, while pushing to keep the terms of their pre-nup valid. The pre-nup states that each party will be responsible for paying their own legal bills. (Rapfix)

Earlier the same week, speculation developed suggesting he would not ink the divorce papers.

Chad Johnson has no plans of letting go his estranged wife Evelyn Lozada anytime soon. Sources close to the couple told entertainment site TMZ that the former NFL star is refusing to sign the divorce papers for Lozada because he is still attempting to win her back. The news about Johnson’s refusal to sign the divorce documents comes just after he tattooed Lozada’s face on his right leg. (Fox News)

The free agent football player pleaded his innocence after getting hit with a battery charge earlier this month.

Johnson was not at the hearing this morning, as his plea was entered in by his attorney, Adam Swickle. “We continue to work diligently on the case with the state attorney’s office, and we have been exchanging all evidence in the case,” Swickle told E! News. Swickle added that Johnson is “doing well, considering the circumstance,” and noted that “he always lands back on his feet.” A status conference has been scheduled for Oct. 31. (E! Online)
