Hollywood stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson‘s hit Fox television series “Empire” is reportedly banking $500,000 for 30-second commercials.
According to reports, the popular series can now compete with sports programming advertising budgets.
Fox is selling commercial time in its hip-hop drama for about $500,000 for a 30-second spot, according to media buyers. And in some cases advertisers are paying more than that. That’s on par with the prices for a 30-second commercial in CBS’s “Thursday Night Football” last season, according to Ad Age’s 2014 survey. (Ad Age)
Although brief with his words, rap star Ludacris said he would make a guest cameo spot on “Empire’s” second season.
Aside from new music, the Fast & Furious star adds that he’s really excited about his role on Fox’s Empire. “I have a guest appearance on the second season so make sure you look for that, definitely a fan of the show,” he says. But how does he balance it all? Luda says it’s difficult with his hectic schedule. “You know, that is the hard part, I wonder that every day, but without the work life I wouldn’t be able to have such a great personal life, because you got to work hard to put food on the table.” (ABC News)
Miami music star Pitbull will appear on “Empire” when it returns later this month.
On Thursday, Fox announced that pop sensation Pitbull would be the latest celebrity to guest-star on Empire. Unlike many other musician-actors who appeared on the first season, he’ll get to play himself, and perform the song “No Doubt About It” with Jussie Smollett‘s character, Jamal. (Vulture)
