Dipset leader Cam’ron has turned down the possibility of a group reunion with Jim Jones and Juelz Santana announcing plans to primarily focus on his career.
Killa said he heard fans and their pleas for a reunion, but has decided to stay away from his former business partners.
“Look, I hear the deejays, I hear the fans, I hear everybody,” Cam said in an interview. “I’m not doing a Diplomats album. I’m not rhyming with Jim or Juelz or nothing. I wish them all the best of luck. Accept it people. The people don’t wanna seem to accept it. I don’t have time to do that, it’s not happening, I’m not doing it…And hopefully the people will get it in their head. Cam is doing Cam. I’m not doing no Diplomat Immunity 3 album. I hope they’ll do it and I wish them luck. Stop dreaming. Stop hoping. Stop wishing. Stop imagining. I’m not doing it. Official. What’s today’s date? Thursday, March 26th, 2009: Cameron Giles, aka Spacely Sprockets aka Jaffe Joe aka Killa Cam aka KFC, whatever you wanna call me, I am not doing no Diplomat 3 album. That’s it.” (NowWutTV)
Jones hinted at the possibility of a Dipset reunion taking place earlier this week.
“For the most part I’ve been selfish about a lot of things this past year,” Jones said. “I’m just extending my hand to the contribution of getting this Diplomat business done. If Cam’ron is listening, maybe we could sit down to get some business together and give the people what they want…Cam has always been on the top of business as far as making money. We spoke. I was doing a lot of b.s.in’ too. So hopefully I’ma do what I told him in the conversation…Aside from everything else, it’s a lot of unfinished business.” (Hot 97)
The Harlem-bred emcee recently explained the duo’s distance after rebuffing questions about a recent phone conversation between he and Cam.
“Who?” Jones asked radio personality Angela Yee. “I don’t know what that’s about because everybody been telling me that and I’m the only one that don’t know about it. I don’t know what he’s talking about. If the money’s right [we’ll talk.]” (Shade 45)
Cam, on the other hand, previously said he reached out and began bettering things with Jones.
“I called [Freekey Zekey‘s] phone four or five days ago and Jim picked up Zekey’s phone,” Cam said in an interview. “Me and him spoke for about 10 or 15 minutes, but me and Zeek speak all the time. I haven’t spoken to Juelz…It was cordial. He knew it was me…He said we was gonna holla, maybe we’ll put something together. But in the immediate future, I’m just doing Cam.” (MTV News)
