Dipset‘s Cam’ron has announced plans to make his long-awaited first concert since his self-exiled absence next month in New York City.
Offering fans an opportunity to see him perform a full-length show, Cam will grace the stage promoting his new album Crime Pays.
“I’m back in the streets New York City with a hot new album and hot new music. It’s your boy Cam’ron taking over Hot 97 this weekend. The 97th person to text us at 75759 will win tickets to my album release concert May 5th at the Highline Ballroom and my new album Crime Pays on sale May 5th. New York City, Tri-state, I am hip-hop, I am Hot 97.” (Miss Info)
Cam made his first on-stage appearance last month with Jadakiss at Harlem’s Apollo Theater.
Offering fans memories of Diplomats’ early days on Roc-A-Fella, Cam performed “I Really Mean It” and “Suck It Or Not” before giving Jada a pound saying, “Thank y’all, it’s Dipset all day, everyday.” (SOHH)
Aside from his album, Cam is also prepping the release of two upcoming films by the end of the year.
“First movie’s called The Bakery featuring my man Bang,” Cam said in a recent interview. “It’s just basically about trafficking drugs from state to state. And of course I got Killa Season 2 coming out this fall. Killa Season 2, we shot a couple scenes but I haven’t really been working on it. I have a date to shoot in June, from June 5 to June 25 I believe. Then it’ll take me about two weeks to edit so it’ll be on point. I’ve shot about two or three scenes that I’m gonna keep for that. I did Killa Season 1 like that, I direct, produce, starred in, edited, I did everything…I’d rather write my own movie and act in my own stuff.” (Real Talk NY)
Despite Dipset member Jim Jones offering a reunion with Cam, Killa recently turned down the possibility in an interview.
“Look, I hear the deejays, I hear the fans, I hear everybody,” Cam said in an interview. “I’m not doing a Diplomats album. I’m not rhyming with Jim or Juelz [Santana] or nothing. I wish them all the best of luck. Accept it people. The people don’t wanna seem to accept it. I don’t have time to do that, it’s not happening, I’m not doing it…And hopefully the people will get it in their head. Cam is doing Cam. I’m not doing no Diplomat Immunity 3 album. I hope they’ll do it and I wish them luck. Stop dreaming. Stop hoping. Stop wishing. Stop imagining. I’m not doing it. Official. What’s today’s date? Thursday, March 26th, 2009: Cameron Giles, aka Spacely Sprockets aka Jaffe Joe aka Killa Cam aka KFC, whatever you wanna call me, I am not doing no Diplomat 3 album. That’s it.” (NowWutTV)
