New York radio station Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex premiered the new record Saturday (May 11) night.

Killa season has returned. Cam’ron has built a reputation for sampling unique classics into new songs. This time around, the Dipset leader uses Cynthia Fee‘s “Thank You For Being a Friend,” famously known as the 90s sitcom The Golden Girls theme song on his new record “Golden Friends.” Hot 97?s Funkmaster Flex comes through with another world premiere. Killa Cam is known for using television themes in his music, notably sampling the “Night Court” intro for a “Horse & Carriage” remix.

Cam’ron has this song called Horse & Carriage remix with rappers Charli Baltimore, Silkk The Shocker, Big Pun, I forgot who else is on the remix but it’s tight. Original version of Horse & Carriage is on Camron’s first album. The way he sampled the Night Court theme music is tight. Cam’ron must love sampling tv show theme songs cause he sampled Magnum PI theme song for his 357 song & he sampled the Monday Night Football theme song for his Let Me Know song. (Sitcoms Online)

Recently, Dipset’s Juelz Santana updated fans on a long-awaited Dipset reunion album with Cam’ron, Jim Jones and Freekey Zekey.

“We definitely going to get back in the studio and start working on some music and if the vibe is good and the music is coming out the way it’s supposed to come out. We going to put that record out.” (HHS1987)

A few days prior, Dipset’s Jim Jones spoke on everyone coming back together.

“It’s nothing really holding it up,” Jimmy said in an interview when asked about the Dipset reunion. “It’s just an organic thing, it’s a band of brothers that started this game from teenagers, made a h*ll of a lot of money, probably more money than most of the industry had ever seen, um, you know, we all was feeling ourselves, little discrepancies, got back together, loving the fact that we could get back together on our own regard because everybody is their own boss, it’s still Dipset for life, all of us have been recording. This month marks the ten-year anniversary of Diplomatic Immunity 1, the first album we did together. So yes, there will be a lot of surprises this year. We plan to attack a lot of Summer Jam stages, we plan to attack a lot of venues, um, we good. You’re gonna love it, I promise you. And we have some music, that’s the scary thing. … I can say now we have some music that’s going to bust some people’s heads open.” (“Jenny Boom Boom TV”)
