Flipmode Squad leader Busta Rhymes reportedly found himself in handcuffs Wednesday (August 5) night over an alleged altercation in New York City.

According to reports, the Big Apple native had police take him in on assault allegations at a Manhattan gym.

The 43-year-old rapper and actor, whose given name is Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr., was arrested around 8:30 p.m. at the Steel Gym at 143 W. 23rd St., sources said.
Sources said Busta Rhymes got into a fight with a fellow gym goer, and allegedly threw a container of Lean Body Protein drinks at the victim. The victim refused medical attention at the scene, sources said. (CBS Local)

Last January, Busta penned an open letter to the music industry over protégé O.T. Genasis’ “CoCo” hit.
