Busta Rhymes’ “Extinction Level Event II” Gets Rocked

New York rapper Busta Rhymes has announced that funny man Chris Rock will play a significant role on his upcoming Extinction Level Event Part II album.

According to Busta, Rock will narrate the entire solo LP.

“YEEEESSSSSSSSSS album almost DONE!!!@ChrisRock JUST FINISHED NARRATING MY WHOLE ALBUM!!!Krrraaaazzzzyyyyy!!!! http://plixi.com/p/56191901,” Busta tweeted early Thursday (November 11) morning. (Busta Rhymes’ Twitter)

Rock has been in high demand amongst rappers lately after recently appearing on Kanye West‘s “Blame Game” record.

Kanye West plays the “Blame Game” on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Nov. 22). With longtime collaborator John Legend crooning over rat-tat drums, subtle keys, and delicate strings, the nearly eight-minute tune puts the rapper in a reflective mood, hurting over a romance turned sour. Chris Rock provides comedic relief, naming things he can thank Yeezy for. (Rap-Up)

Producer Nottz recently spoke with SOHH about producing Busta’s LP.

“We did the first joint on Busta’s new album,” Nottz revealed. “I also did the first joint on Dre‘s Detox. It’s going good. With Busta, I really, really think this album is dropping soon. You know it’s going to be Extinction Level Event Part II, so that’s what it is. It’s just like anybody who does a part two to a record, you know that’s gotta be banging. It’s gotta be banging way better than the first joint. And from what I’ve heard? Oh my God. It’s crazy. Busta. That dude is so amazing man. He really be having records. Records, records, records, records. It’s crazy man because the dude is so consistent.” (SOHH)

The rap veteran recently expressed appreciation for the lyrical newcomers that capture his attention as of late.

“I give it up to J. Cole, he’s one of my favorite new MCs,” Busta said in an interview. “Very creative, his spit game is incredible to me. I think he delivers well and he’s been exemplifying consistency…I gotta big up Drake. It’s not every day that you come across one of those dudes that have the ability to just do so many different things and still sound extremely thorough in every area…”Nicki Minaj is doing a wonderful job, not just as a female artist but as [an] MC period. She’s displaying an ability that most dudes ain’t even been able to deliver as consistently on…”I like the Wiz Khalifa dude. I’m very interested in seeing how his thing is coming together because it seems like it’s coming together very organically…I gotta big up Reek Da Villian, [who] is one of the new MCs. I been working with him for about three years.” (Rap Fix)

An album release date has not yet been revealed.
