Buckshot’s Open Message To Shyne, “Come Out & Stay Independent” [Audio]

With this week’s delayed release of former Bad Boy protege Jamal “Shyne” Barrow, Boot Camp Clik‘s Buckshot recently hit up SOHH to discuss what rap plans his fellow New York-bred emcee should embark upon after serving eight years behind bars.

Offering a personal message to his fellow Brooklyn resident, Buck suggested the rapper venturing out with an independent business.

“My thing with Shyne is, Shyne, when you get out, do the same thing Buckshot did,” he explained. “Like get your own, start your own, own your own, be your own, control your own and dictate your own. Don’t come out and let nobody tell you ‘I’ll give you a million dollars’ or, well, that sh*t ain’t happening nowadays anyway or ‘I’ll give’ whatever the f*ck, I ain’t gonna put those numbers out in the air because I know the type of numbers they giving. But anyway, Shyne, come out and stay independent and make all the money. All the f*cking money. Don’t give your sh*t to nobody ’cause when Shyne come out, I’m buying his sh*t.” (SOHH)

While early reports said Shyne was freed yesterday (October 6), he is now reportedly being examined by immigration officials.

Shyne, convicted of a club shooting while mentor P. Diddy beat the rap, was released from prison Tuesday and taken into custody by immigration officials. The 30 year-old ex-protege has a green card but is facing deportation to his native Belize because of his felony rap sheet, his lawyer said. The performer’s lawyer, Oscar Michelen, said his client “is anxious to get released.” “He is looking forward to seeing his family and being able to be free to do what he wants to do,” he said. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Mike Gilhooly would only say that Shyne was in custody for being in violation of U.S. immigration law.” (New York Daily News)

According to Diddy, Shyne does not have contractual obligations toward Bad Boy Entertainment.

“It’s a blessing that he’s coming home,” Puff told DJ Absolut in an interview last month. “I spoke with him a couple weeks ago. He sounded like he was in good spirits. I know he can’t wait to get home. And I know he’s definitely gonna heat the whole scene up. He’s definitely gonna do it, you know what I’m saying, he definitely was one of the most talented young artists that I had the pleasure to work with so I’m quite sure he’s been using his time wisely and I’m quite sure he has some heat.” (YouTube)

Speculation has begun to grow suggesting Shyne has already joined forces with The Game.

“WELCOME HOME SHYNE !!!,” Game wrote Tuesday. “9 YEARS IN THE JOINT ON SOME BULLSH!#$, GOTTA FEEL GOOD TO BE FREE…… BWS/GANGLAND !” (The Game’s Twitter)
