R&B icon Whitney Houston‘s daughter Bobbi Kristina has passed away this weekend at the age of 22 following months of hospitalization.

Kristina’s family issued a statement with the heartbreaking news Sunday (July 26).

“Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.” (Statement)

The late celebrity’s family placed her into hospice care a few weeks ago after revealing she had irreversible brain damage.

Her family moved her to hospice last month citing her deteriorating condition. Family, including father Bobby Brown, was seen at the facility. “Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate. As of today, she has been moved into hospice care,” a statement from Brown’s family read. “We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.” (CNN)

R&B singer Keyshia Cole previously said she felt she could have helped steer Bobbi into a positive light by reaching out in the past.

“I think that we have it in common, our parents and everything,” Keyshia told Rap-Up TV. “We don’t want to jump the gun on anything. I don’t know what’s going on. I just pray for her.” While she hopes for the best, she wishes that she had reached out to Bobbi Kristina. “That’s what I kept telling myself back when Whitney passed away, but I never did,” she said. “I’m just kinda mad at myself for not reaching out.” (Rap-Up)

Music veteran Missy Elliott spoke out on Bobbi’s condition in an interview in February.

“It’s heavy on a lot of people,” said Missy, who is a friend of the Houston family. “I’ve been praying and a lot of artists that I know that have relationships with her and have a relationship with her mother, we’ve been in prayer. I just tell people to keep praying. Don’t stop. I believe in the power of prayer.” (“Sway In The Morning”)

Reality television personality Toya Carter and radio veteran Funkmaster Flex both took to social media to speak out on Bobbi Kristina last winter.

Let's continue to keep Bobbi Kristina in our prayers. my heart goes out to the Houston and Brown Family. #sosad

  1. RIP… But everyone saw this coming…You people gon learn to stay off the fucking drugs. One damn way or the other. Don’t be crying when it sends you or your people 6 feet deep. You knew that from the get go. It’s time to get off the booze. drugs. all of it. I dont get why people wanna be under some shit like that anyway knowing damn well all it leads to is death/jail/rehab. Quit being weak and live ya damn life sober. Fucking cowards.

    • Not that I condone drug use, but I guess the reasoning is that we’re all going to be 6 feet deep eventually at some point (something that we can and can’t control due to the nature of life), so why not go out doing something that gives you the highest of feeling…

    • nope. she was a drug addict. but yeah you prob right. sometimes people rather do anything than face the truth.

  2. rip. again. she died a long time ago. just hope bobby dont relapse and bring her to that pet semetary
