BREAKING: Nick Cannon Hospitalized In Aspen, Mariah Carey Reveals Details

Just months after welcoming in a set of twins with wife/singer Mariah Carey, actor/rapper Nick Cannon has been hospitalized in Aspen due to kidney complications.

Carey took to Twitter to ask her over five million followers to pray for Cannon.

“Please pray for Nick as he’s fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman,” she tweeted January 4th. (Mariah Carey’s Twitter)

She also posted a message on her blog to explain the situation’s seriousness.

“This is us in the hospital – role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are. We’re trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C. We’re doing OK but we’re “straaaaaanded in Aspen”. #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we’re together, we’re OK. I’m not trying to make light out of the situation because it’s a serious moment that’s very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers. LYM.” (Mariah Carey’s Blog)

The married couple welcomed their first children together last April.

It’s official — Mimi is now a mama! Mariah Carey gave birth to twins – a boy and a girl – on Saturday. The 41-year-old singing superstar gave birth at 12:07 p.m. EDT at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles, Mariah’s rep, Cindi Berger, told the Associated Press. Nick and Mariah’s baby girl was reportedly born first, weighing 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 18 inches long; while her brother was next, at 5 pounds 6 ounces, and was 19 inches. The twins coincidentally arrived on the couple’s fourth wedding anniversary. (Access Hollywood)

Over the summer, Cannon spoke to SOHH about having fun in hip-hop.

“This is really entertainment, what happened to when we were having fun in hip-hop,” Cannon asked SOHH. “If I can wave that flag like, ‘I’m that dude that can have fun in hip-hop,’ then I don’t mind being the corny dude. I have no problems with that. I’ve accomplished everything I’ve wanted to do by having a good time and doing it with a smile. So, I’m just trying to give people an alternative.” (SOHH)
