BREAKING: Driver Opens Fire At French Montana & Entourage, 1 Person Dead [Video]

Weeks after Maybach Music Group’s Rick Ross dodged gunfire following a birthday celebration, associate French Montana was reportedly the victim to a Thursday (February 28) shooting in Philadelphia.

Details of the horrific incident have started to surface online.

One person is dead and another is injured after a gunman opened fire on a crowd near a rapper’s tour bus, parked at a Penn’s Landing hotel. The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday outside the Holiday Inn Express on the 100 block of North Christopher Columbus Boulevard. There was an altercation in front of the parked tour bus of rapper French Montana. Police say there were a number of people parked in cars, including some fans who had followed the rapper to the hotel following his performance at the Theatre of the Living Arts on South Street. Both fans and French’s entourage were fired at by an unnamed shooter.

It all started around midnight, after rapper French Montana performed at the TLA on South Street. Afterwards, his tour bus drove to Columbus Boulevard, with several fans following. The bus then parked outside the Holiday Inn Express near Race Street. The fans were gathered outside the bus when, Chief Inspector Scott Small said, “According to some of the witnesses, they say a car drove by and opened fire into the crowd.” (CBS Local)

Two men reportedly endured injuries, including a fatal shot to the stomach.

A 27-year-old man was hit in the abdomen and later pronounced dead. Another man was hit in the shoulder. Their names haven’t been released. Police say they don’t think the rapper or his entourage were targeted and neither victim appeared to be with the rapper’s group. (Washington Post)

A local authority has provided some context on what all went down.

“A large crowd of fans, as well as some of the entourage, were loitering and just hanging out on Christopher Columbus Boulevard when according to some of the witnesses a car drove by and opened fire,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small. (6 Action News)
