Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz may have some serious new content to add to his upcoming solo album as reports claim he fell victim to a robbery at gunpoint over the weekend.
According to reports, the entire incident went down late afternoon Sunday (June 9) in California.
2 Chainz was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight Sunday in San Francisco … TMZ has learned … and police say the rapper’s entourage fled “like cockroaches” when it all went down. A San Francisco PD sergeant tells TMZ … cops responded to a shots-fired call just after 4:30 PM. We’re told when they got to the scene, 2 Chainz wasn’t cooperative … saying he wanted to handle it himself. Chainz told police his wallet was stolen and that’s all that happened. (TMZ)
There is also reportedly footage of the incident in local police possession.
Police reviewed surveillance video … which revealed Chainz was clearly the intended target. We’re told video also shows Chainz and 14 of his people all “ran away from the incident like “cockroaches running from a flashlight.” Police are on the hunt. (TMZ)
Some reports claim Chainz is out in California for a radio concert.
2 Chainz is currently in Oakland for the KMEL Summer Jam . Apparently he attended the Green Door some time before his gig. He was there to buy marijuana cookies, according to GA Followers. There are several unconfirmed reports trickling through via Twitter. A strange Instagram post from an individual named Lil Blood recalling his version of events has popped up since the report. “2 Chainz got his cornball ass stripped in the city,” says the post, which is captioned, “Next time f*ck with some real n*ggas cuzin.” So far, all is quiet on the 2 Chainz Twitter front but, sadly, it’s most likely the man has no chainz at all anymore. UPDATE: Early reports suggested that there was an attempted robbery of 2Chainz that failed. But, still there are rumors that a bodyguard was shot in the robbery attempt. Some say 2Chainz never got shot, but was robbed. Basically, there are several variations of this rumor. WTF! They are saying on Twitter that our beloved 2 Chainz has been shot twice and robbed!!!! SH*T! I hope this isn’t the case! But, it sure feels bad. Sheeeesh! 2Chainz has not been on twitter for hours! God bless him if something has happened. (All Hip Hop Rumors)
