Cash Money Records’ Bow Wow may be aiming to make good with his baby’s mother/model Joie Chavis as new reports claim she intentionally omitted his name from their daughter’s birth certificate.
According to Chavis, his decision to arrive nearly a week after their daughter’s April birth fueled the decision.
Bow Wow’s baby mama was so pissed that he was MIA during the birth of their baby, and the days that followed — she 86’d him from the baby’s birth certificate. Joie Chavis tells TMZ … she was shocked that B.W. wasn’t there for her when she went under the knife for an emergency C-section on April 27. And if Bow Wow’s excuse was squeamishness, it didn’t explainhis absence in the days that followed. He finally showed up on the 6th day of the baby’s life, to take them home. Pissed as she was, Joie tells us Bow Wow has turned it around and now is all about baby Shai. Joie says she’s now willing to let bygones be bygones and put Bow Wow on the document, but it’s going to take a judge to make that happen. (TMZ)
Chavis recently talked about Bow Wow taking on fatherhood.
“He’s getting all these props as dad of the year, I just hope he does the work, in fact, I pray he becomes an example to all young fathers. I was happy to hear his statements, I just pray he lives up to it.” (Global Grind)
The rapper’s Cash Money Records labelmate, Glasses Malone, recently gave SOHH his reaction to the news.
“He’s been in this business forever and n*ggas be wanting to hurt themselves over this business,” Glasses told SOHH. “I know dudes who have become full drug addicts and alcoholics because of this business. That sh*t is probably going to help him because like I said, his life has always been in the industry and this may have given him something even more for him to live for. Sometimes people don’t know the value of families and I think a dude like that, this is going to help him and he’s going to treat the baby right.” (SOHH)
Prior to the latest information, initial reporting claimed Bow Wow’s daughter was born sometime last month.
Rapper Bow Wow has become a first-time father after his ex-girlfriend delivered a baby girl. The “Like You” hitmaker, real name Shad Moss, welcomed daughter Shai Moss with hip-hop video vixen Joie Chavis, in early June. (Fox 23 News)
