Cash Money Records rapper Bow Wow recently gobbled up more rumors surrounding his wealth and laughed off claims of possibly being broke.
According to the new BET “106 & Park” co-host, he is too smart to lose all his money.
“I love it, I just laugh at it,” Bow Wow said in an interview. “One thing about me, I’m a smart guy. Very smart. Things that I do, are for reasons. Things that I don’t do are for reasons. So for myself, I’m comfortable, very comfortable. For me, it’s all about the work. I really don’t read blogs — I don’t really read blogs at all because that’s not why I’m in the [rap] game at all. I’m in the game for my fans and to make them smile and to make them enjoy what I do. But as far as rumors, those are people’s opinions — until you see me on a corner with a cardboard box saying I’ll tap dance for food for canned goods, then you can say that [I’m broke].” (Real Talk NY)
Recent reports claimed he only made $4,000 monthly as a Cash Money employee.
Bow Wow has been ordered to pay child support for his 1-year-old daughter, but we’ve learned he withheld critical financial information from the judge. Bow Wow and baby mama Joie Chavis were in court Monday, fighting over exactly how much Bow Wow is worth and how much he has to pay. After some haggling, Bow Wow voluntarily agreed to shell out $3,000 a month in support for baby Shai. Bow Wow told the judge … he makes $4,000 a month working as an employee at Cash Money Records, and that’s it. He testified he leases a Jeep and has a grand total of $1,500 in his checking account. So here’s the question — if he makes $4,000 a month before taxes, how can he afford to pay $3,000 a month in child support? (TMZ)
A few months ago, Bow Wow addressed his publicized child support battle and denied having money problems.
“Hell no! Sometimes, it’s worth doing it so that you can have that freedom. Ain’t nobody wanting to be dealing with a woman who keeps blowing you up. I’m happy about it and now she can live her life peacefully. She can do whatever she wants to do and date whomever she wants to date and for me, I’m just going to continue on with my career and living life. I’m happy as can be. For the record, I have no issues with my [baby mama], like not one. I just want to let all them young fellas out there know that there’s nothing wrong with having a kid but just make sure you have it with the right one. Last spring, the rapper laughed off his past reported tax problems.
“H*ll yeah! [Laughs] Word up. Tell ’em blog that! Yeah I wrote that check, tell ’em blog that,” Bow Wow said when asked if he would like to confirm not having any legal or tax issues as of now. “People be forgetting, celebrities we work. I’m in the studio, I’m on a movie set, I have a million things for me to worry about. That’s just something like ‘Oh s–t, I forgot.’ You need that [check]? That’s the situation, but I’m all good. If I wasn’t good then my black a– would’ve been in jail! (Hip Hop Wired)
