Cash Money Records' Bow Wow has to dig deep into his pockets to pay close to $80,000 to a female adult film star for using her footage in a music video.
Details of porn star Celine “Katsuni” Tran‘s legal victory over the rap star surfaced online Monday (March 18).
Bow Wow has to cough up nearly $80,000 to a French porn star …. for allegedly jacking footage of her dancing and splashing it all over one of his videos without her permission … TMZ has learned. Adult film star Celine Tran — known as “Katsuni” — sued Bow Wow back in July 2012, claiming he stole clips of her pole dancing in a music video for a French band called Electronic Conspiracy and then used a ton of the footage in his music video “Drank in My Cup” … sans permission. Instead of addressing the hefty suit, Bow Weezy fell back and, in return, suffered a huge loss.
Bow Wow didn’t even respond to the lawsuit, so a federal judge ordered him to pony up $79,346.07 (damages + attorneys’ fees) … and stop with the footage STAT. Sad part is … for $80k … he never got to see her naked. (TMZ)
Reports of Katsuni’s plans to take legal action against the rapper heated up the Internet last July.
Rapper Bow Wow swiped a dancer’s performance from another band’s music video and used it in his “Drank in My Cup” music video without permission, a French porn star claims in Federal Court. Celine Tran, professionally known as “Katsuni,” claims she appeared as a “club dancer” in a music video for the French band Electronic Conspiracy. She says rapper Bow Wow (Shad Gregory Moss) used that dance performance in his “Drank in My Cup” music video without her permission to promote his upcoming album, “Underrated.” He allegedly posted the music video on his official YouTube page and linked to it on Twitter on April 20. Just last week, J. Cole released his freestyle over Kirko Bangz‘ “Drank in My Cup.” Now Bow Wow gets freaky on his sexually explicit remix to the Houston MC’s single. The Cash Money rapper’s oft-delayed album Underrated is now scheduled for a June 12 release. (Rap-Up)
