Although super busy, Bey said she always makes time to raise Jay-Z‘s baby girl.

“And I am very protective. I just want to make sure that she can have a healthy, safe, normal life. In the back of my mind, she’s my priority. And life is completely different now. I feel really, really just lucky that I can still do what I love, and now have a way bigger meaning. And that’s to be her mother.” (“Good Morning America”)

Both Jay and Bey are reportedly in the process of having Blue’s name trademarked.

Beyonce and Jay-Z sure know how to create and protect a brand. The superstars are in the process of getting their daughter’s name, Blue Ivy Carter, trademarked. The application filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office obtained by RumorFix, asks to trademark the unique name for cosmetics, skin care products, lotion, eyeglasses, baby strollers, scrunchies, key rings, playing cards, video games and dozens of other uses. The couple has three years to prove they are indeed using the “Blue Ivy” name for products. (RumorFix)

Grammy-winning singer The-Dream recently talked about the impact Blue Ivy has had on Young Hov’s life since her birth last year.

It’s possible that being a dad would soften the man who once stuck up a rival drug dealer on “Friend or Foe” or who thumbed his nose at New York’s district attorney on “Izzo,” right? “Nah, I think he’s gotten a little bit more gritty,” The-Dream said of his pal Hov when he sat down on “RapFix Live” Wednesday. The singer/songwriter and producer has been in the studio with Jay doing “a little something,” he said without divulging much else. There’s been rumblings of a 12th solo LP, but nothing has been confirmed — and certainly not by The-Dream. (MTV)

Back in 2012, Jigga gushed over the thought of spoiling his daughter throughout her teenage years.

At the last minute, I remembered to ask after his family, “Oh, my family’s amazing.” And the baby? “She’s four months.” Marcy raised me, and whether right or wrong/Streets gave me all I write in the song. But what will TriBeCa give Blue? “I actually thought about that more before she was born. Once she got here I’ve been in shock until maybe last week?” Her childhood won’t be like his, and this fact he takes in his stride. “We would fight each other. My brother would beat me up,” he says, but it was all in preparation for the outside. “I was going to have to fight, I was going to have to go through some things, and they were preparing me.” He smiles: “She doesn’t have to be tough. She has to love herself, she has to know who she is, she has to be respectful, and be a moral person.” It’s a new day. (New York Times)
