According to Rob, new footage of him blasting Puff was actually recorded months ago prior to them recently reconnecting.

“The situation with me and Puff, I want to clear this up right now, I don’t have no problems with Puff,” Rob said in a video. “Puff is actually instrumental in getting my release from Atlantic Records…That interview was a couple months ago, probably a month and a half ago closer to two, that was at the time I was dealing with emotion, I was dealing with emotions. When you deal with emotions, you might say things you don’t really mean. Especially when you don’t have the real story behind it…I spoke my mind and I got it off my chest, but now, now that me and Puff done spoke on everything — that interview should be nulled and void.” (Street Heat)

In the original footage, Rob questioned Diddy’s loyalty toward him.

“As far as all the people at Bad Boy, nobody reached out to me [when I was in jail] because all it takes is the press of a button, department of corrections, you know my name and birthday, I used to work here,” Black Rob said in an interview. “When I heard this n*gga went to see [Lil] Wayne in jail and you ain’t come and see BR? After all the years we spent together? Like, that sh*t didn’t mean nothing to you, dawg? You actually think I’m not your man? So that right there, told me, that n*gga was never my man. You had like 50 employees, you ain’t even have to write the letter — Puff wasn’t the one doing the records with me, he was just the last word. ‘Good record. I like that, I wanna get on that.’ He’s not in the studio, 20 hours, 15 hours with me, never. It wasn’t no love over there man. It wasn’t no love. Dudes was just using, just trying to use me…They used the Black Rob Report as a spring board for the Biggie duet album. Puff wasn’t doing nothing. He ain’t have no records out. It was dry, everybody was going.” (This Is 50)

Last June Rob said he was disappointed with Puff distancing himself from him while completing a jail sentence.

“Nah,” Rob said when asked if he still had a relationship with Bad Boy. “If you tell me you love me, you tell me you my man, then I’ma take that, I’ma run with that. You feel me? So when something happens to me and you turn your back on me regardless of the situation, regardless of what we’re going through. I don’t appreciate that, I don’t respect that. Because if you’re my man, I’m always gonna be your man unless you flip on me. I was under the assumption I was family. If you follow Black Rob’s career, you know I been through a whole bunch. When the album’s getting ready to come out, I’m either in jail or somewhere I’m not supposed to be. I’m not blaming Bad Boy, let me set the record straight, I’m not blaming P. Diddy — I did that, that was me. I have no hatred…” (BET)

Despite the claims, Puff recently denied ever doing any shady business with his artists.

“There’s an off perception that needs to be addressed about me that I have ever robbed somebody or mistreated somebody. Or tried to be ruthless or whatever in this game. Like, all this year I’ve heard people say, ‘Where’s Carl Thomas, where’s Black Rob, where’s G.Dep? Where are these artists?’ And for some reason they go ahead and equate that, cause those artists aren’t with me, that I’ve done something wrong or malicious or conniving. It’s something that I do have a problem with because they don’t have no proof that I’ve ever done nothing like that.” (Rap Radar)
