According to reports, Birdman has no intention of letting Weezy F. Baby out of his Cash Money contract.

Birdman is unmoved and vows to duke it out in court if necessary, because a contract is a contract. As for the delay in dropping the album, we’re told Birdman says there’s lots of administrative work that goes into releasing a record, and Weezy is just a rapper, not a businessman, so what does he know? Birdman still intends to release the album, but on his time, not Weezy’s. (TMZ)

Check out what this ex-Cash Money artist said about Wayne’s situation right here…

Recently, ex-Cash Money artists Turk said Wayne was largely responsible for helping Cash Money turn into a powerhouse.

“It shouldn’t be no problem if a person want to branch out if that’s what he want to do. I don’t think it should be no problem. We came in the game together. We put in a lot of work with Cash Money. Wayne has held Cash Money up. Even when we left. My hat goes off to him, man. He held it down. He put in his grind…Sometimes things come to an end. We’ll just have to see how it gon’ all play out.” (VLAD TV)

Footage of Wayne claiming his days at the iconic label were ending sprouted online a few days ago.

Lil Wayne finally spoke out in public about his battle with Cash Money Records over his new album … and told concertgoers his days at the label are numbered. It all went down at Vice’s 20th anniversary party, and when Weezy hit the stage he went off about the delayed release of “The Carter V” … calling it a “f**ked up situation.” 10:45 AM PT — Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, now tells us he was just being “sarcastic” when he told us “everything is fine” between Weezy and Cash Money. (TMZ)

Wayne flooded his Twitter page with a flurry of frustrated remarks earlier this month.

  1. He gonna do him like 50 did buck. That snake ass shit. Best thing for an artist to do in a situation like this is to ensure the bs, fulfill your obligations, and once that contract is fulfilled bounce on them and expose the shit out them.

    • Real shit. Artists have to learn how to bite their tongue in certain situations. Shit like this happens all the time. Birdman has been a shady nigga since the start of Cash Money.

    • You can call it snake ass shit, but Buck back with the unit. You know why? There is simply nothing better out there for him besides G-Unit. Wayne can survive on his own but he’s not a businessman. Time will tell. However bear in mind that Juvi back and Mannie wanna come back too.

      • You mean, theres nothing better fort 50 to get back with Buck and hoping that a G-Unit réunion will work. Poor fiddy. Thats a hoping Win-win for both of them. And it will not work.

        • That too but I was looking at it from Buck’s perspective. And it does work. They’ve been putting out good material and the fans appreciate it.

      • Yep, people seem to overlook shit like this. The music business is just this way, Baby isn’t unique to it. Wayne doesn’t have a release date because he doesn’t have a hit song. Was anybody even checking for his album when it was supposed to be dropping? That’s the bottom line and what I’ve been saying for years with Cash Money….they operate just like the big boys. No hot single, no release date for most artists, and Wayne is in that space these days because Drake is top dog over there now. Minaj actually charted some hits, Wayne? He hasn’t had one in a while, and they know he wouldn’t have done the numbers they wanted. It’s more that goes into an album than just going in the booth and putting it out, otherwise there are a lot of hot mix tapes that would have blown up past what they did.

      • There’s nothing better because fif blocked his rise by keeping him from realeasing music doing feats or making moves buck was arguably the best out the group and most loved by rappers outside of the gunit camp. Buck woulda had success just like game had. Him being brought back into the unit wasn’t a kind decision by fif he knew it was gonna spark a buzz for his fading career

        • Buck was always good with his energy and his Southern sound giving him attention with TI and Jeezy etc… But Banks was bttr than him as far as sells

        • Before all the bullshit Buck had his own recorldlabel, timepieces, and clothingline thanks to 50 also. He lost it all cause he’s not a business man

    • No shit sherlock holmes. Birdman won’t drop the final album till wayne signs an extension.

      • Why do you believe this? They just reupped with Drake who’s making hit after hit, whether you like his music or not. If anything, Cash Money has been good for Wayne more than vice versa these last couple of years. He got lazy and isn’t making hits anymore. That’s the bottom line in this business.

    • 50 and do buck on no snake shit .. buck did 50 on some snake shit and he lucky fifty let him back on the team after that and is helping the nigga eat. Why u think buck cheesing ear to ear in every interveiw he got where fifty in the same room ? Cause buck know damn well he was dead ass wrong and knows if fif had of said fuck him for life he couldnt have sincerly blamed him lol

  2. OF COURSE HE’S GOING TO ENFORCE THE CONTRACT THAT WAYNE SIGNED, HOWEVER GOOD LUCK GOING FORWARD SIGNING ANY LEGITIMATE REAL ARTISTS’!!! THIS LOOKS LIKE IT’S GOING TO REALLY GET UGLY & IF IT DOES BABY BETTER HOPE THE $$$ HE HAS NOW LASTS FOREVER!!! WHAT RAPPER/SINGER NOT ON HEROIN/METH/COKE IS GOING TO SIGN ANY CONTRACT WITH THEM IF WAYNE ACTUALLY LEAVES KNOWING THEIR HISTORY WHEN IT COMES TO HOW THEY TREAT & NOT PAY PEOPLE?!!?

  4. Call me crazy but I think Lil Wayne is going to die in the next two years or sohh and Baby n’ Slim are going to milk the shit out of it! History! I really hope not but you should know how dirty this industry is!

  5. OF COURSE HE’S GOING TO ENFORCE THE CONTRACT THAT WAYNE SIGNED, HOWEVER GOOD LUCK GOING FORWARD SIGNING ANY LEGITIMATE REAL ARTISTS’!!! • Easy, if you don’t know how to run a label. How many rappers out there run a label successfully on their own? You’re dealing with the 3 majors to start with in negotiations, which 99% of rappers don’t have the educational background to do. Even Jay-Z has one of the most powerful men in hip hop, Lyor Cohen, on his team and Dame Dash in his earlier years. Dr. Dre had Suge Knight and Jimmy Iovine doing it for him. The others that you think are “labeles” like Maybach, Shady, G-Unit, G.O.O.D. Music, etc. are essentially vanity labels. The Tony Drapers, Suge Knights, Ted Lucases, J. Princes of the world who had the knowledge to negotiate those deals with the majors don’t exist in the industry anymore.

  6. of course its not gonna come out. Money can still be made off of wayne an if he puts it out then his contract will be up and thatll be the end of one of his 3 main cash cows. the other two being Drake an Nicki. But if Wayne bounces and leaves cash money, Wayne could take Young Money with him since it is his and theres probably some contractual loophole where if he takes YM away from Cash Money then all the artists on YM wont be on Cash Money. But then again maybe not. Itll be interesting to see how this works because now that Wayne himself has spoken out against Birdman theres no artist out there in their right mind that would sign that Cash Money

  7. You know, this reminds me of 2002 – 2003 again when juvenile, B.G, and turk dipped out. We all wondered why. Probably because all Baby do is give them jewelry, cars, houses, let em stunt and when it comes time to pay he not gonna do it. The biggest sign not to stay with Cash Money is when Mannie Fresh left. I guarantee that all songs made under that label truly stays under Birdman.

What puzzles me is that wayne went around for at least 5 years with drake and nicki and didn’t know he wasn’t getting paid. All those millions of albums and singles sold, concerts, awards, and endorsements? Seems like Birdman was writing out the contract himself while Weezy was on lean thinkin he is getting his own label. I guess Wayne didn’t think he would be shelved with the other 46 other artists under the cash money umbrella

  8. Im laughing at all lil wayne fans who worship him like a god…i for one dont feel sorry for the dumb nigga, really…always talking shit like he a boss but cant put his own album out? Lol; funny shit…dooehead mfer
