Birdman said despite his executive position, he does not pin YMCMB artists to specific release dates.

“Wayne, man. He’s so much an artist like that. He change his mind a lot. He feel like he want to do more. Really, they be on they call. It ain’t on me. So whatever Wayne want to do, Nicki want to do. I leave that up to them. I don’t decide on dates and everything. I don’t do none of that.” (XXL Mag)

This week, Wayne addressed his solo album’s publicized delay.

“I know the album was supposed to drop today, Tha Carter V album, v’s up, but we had to push the album back due to a problem,” Wayne said in the video clip. “I’ve just been skating too god d*mn much. I’ve been skating too much and I forgot about the motherf*cking Carter. All I do is skate every motherf*cking day – honestly, I’ve been working hard every motherf*cking day on this album and this album means everything to me and I know the real fans, it means a whole lot to them too. So I kinda refuse to cheat them and give them anything and anything rushed.” (Carter 5 PSA)

Reports of Weezy F. Baby’s latest solo offering missing an October 28 release date landed online earlier this week.

Originally slated to drop tomorrow (Oct. 28), Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated Tha Carter V has unfortunately been pushed back. The president of Young Money revealed to KarenCivil.com that they are currently working on a new release date for the project. (Karen Civil)
