Cash Money boss Birdman wants to make things right again with estranged protégé Lil Wayne. The music mogul has vowed to get Weezy F. Baby’s long-delayed Tha Carter V album out sooner than later.

In a new interview, the New Orleans native revealed C5 should arrive before 2018.

Birdman echoed the same message he offered on Travis Scott’s Beats 1 show in January when asked for The Carter V’s release date. “You will get it this year,” he said. “Me and Wayne will be aight. I’ma make that work. That’s my son and I love him, and we’ll make it happen.” (Billboard)

Recently, Young Money president Mack Maine updated fans on a slew of upcoming Wayne albums including his delayed Tha Carter V.

“We wanna get that Carter V out,” Mack began to tell of his company’s plans. “Wayne also has a dope project called Velvet. We want to get that out. … We also have L.A.T. which is Wayne, Gutta and HoodyBaby. They going bananas. Demeo dropping his mixtape top of the year, Kingpin… We got some sh*t in the chamber for y’all man. We gonna be all over your radio, all over your TV screen. If you got any problems with us, you not gonna be able to avoid us.” (REVOLT TV)

A few days prior, Birdman revealed the fate of Wayne’s delayed project.

“Tha Carter V’s coming out. It’s definitely coming out. The situation with me and my son, I’m going to put it all that behind us and just let it move forward. Wayne is one of the best artists ever to do the game, and I want to see him finish [and] continue to do what he been doing, and I’m going to support whatever he’s doing, but you definitely going to get that C5.” (Beats 1)

Earlier the same week, Wayne hinted at multiple releases likely coming out in 2017.
