Birdman credited Drizzy’s unmatched musical talent for placing him in another class compared to his peers.

“Drake… he’s just not normal when it comes to music. He’s a fresh talent. He’s not a replica. He don’t duplicate. He’s setting his own tone and his own everything with music,” Birdman told MTV News of hearing “Started From the Bottom” for the first time. “I think this record’s really something for him to be different…he’s not a normal guy. He’s one of the most talented, really on earth, to me when it comes to music. … So to me I loved it, when [Lil Wayne and I] first heard it we were amazed.” (MTV)

Baby also described Drake’s passion and how he uses some of the Cash Money influences in his own music.

“Drake definitely is a fan of the culture and he’s definitely a fan of our culture, and where we come from — Cash Money, me and Wayne and how we built our whole foundation — so he’ll jab at some of the old Cash Money/Young Money flavors and he’s slick with it,” Birdman explained. “And that song is real rap, they ain’t doing that no more. That’s what makes him so different to me, and that’s what makes it so fly how he do it.” (MTV)

A few days ago, Director X spilled the beans on the music video’s eye-catching beauty’s identity.

“I’ve known her forever. For a really long time. Everyone in this video is from Toronto. It’s a city, but its a town at the same time. So that’s my homie. The way God planned it, she was the closest to set. She’s the hottest girl, but she actually lives closest to Hamilton. Hamilton is where we shot the airport for the flying scene, so just for scheduling we had to shoot the drug mart close to there because of production rules. The day of when we didn’t have anybody, we were just like, ‘Call Maria [Angelica Charuppi], she lives in Hamilton.'” (Complex)

Recently, the Young Money star hinted at an official remix coming together.

The song speaks volumes. “It was about the misinterpretation of me as a person,” explained the Canadian star. “I feel like I don’t say enough and people have their own preconceived stories about what I’ve been through. I’m just sort of excited about that song. It means a lot to me and my friends and what we’ve done to get to this position.” “Started From the Bottom” has already spawned remixes from Wiz Khalifa, Soulja Boy, and Machine Gun Kelly. So does Drake have a favorite? “Not yet ’cause the official remix hasn’t dropped,” he teased. (Rap-Up)
