G.O.O.D. Music's Big Sean has more reasons to smile other than soaring record sales as his recent sexual abuse case has been settled with him avoiding a long battle in court.
Sean’s lawyer officially broke the news, revealing the Detroit rapper swallowed a guilty plea for a lesser charge.
“I am pleased to announce that after further investigation the Niagra County District Attorney’s Office decided not to pursue any of the sexual misconduct allegations against Mr. Anderson,” Big Sean’s lawyer, Scott Leemon, told XXLMag.com. “As a result in order to get this entire ordeal behind him Mr. Anderson agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of unlawful imprisonment with a $750 fine. Mr. Anderson regrets any misunderstandings that occurred that day and reiterates he did not engage in any type of sexual misconduct.” (XXL Mag)
In mid-August, Sean hinted at the case not being as serious as perceived.
“Man, sh*t, that was just some little minor sh*t,” Sean explained in an interview with radio host Tim Westwood. “I really want to talk about it too and go through the details but my lawyer says I can’t talk about it until it’s all said and done. But I’ll be happy to. I’ll let you know. I’ll make sure to give you the exclusive when it’s all said and done in a couple weeks.” (Tim Westwood TV)

Detroit hip-hop star Big Sean faced allegations of sexual assault as he made his way to Pontiac for a big homecoming gig Friday night. The 23 year-old rapper, born Sean Anderson, was arrested Thursday for an alleged sexual assault during his concert with Wiz Khalifa outside Buffalo, N.Y. Big Sean hasn’t publicly commented on the allegations, but he was busy on Twitter Friday afternoon, posting enthusiastically about the show and inviting fans to the concert afterparty in Pontiac. Another man was arrested alongside Sean for the same charges.
New York state police charged the rapper with misdemeanor counts of forcible touching, unlawful imprisonment and sex abuse after receiving the complaint at Artpark State Park in Lewiston, which is near the Niagara River. He was performing with Wiz Khalifa. A second man, Willie “Sayitainttone” Hansbro, was also arrested and faces the same charges. They were arraigned and released on $500 bail and are set to appear in Niagara County Court in Lewiston on Sept. 6. (Los Angeles Times)
