OutKast’s Big Boi can clock in some extra time behind doors with his significant other with a healed knee months after hurting himself during an Illinois concert.
Buzz behind the OutKast member’s completed road to recovery has started to circulate online.
Outkast rapper Big Boi tells TMZ … he “lost his doggy style” abilities after blowing out his knee back in May … but don’t worry, the rapper tells us came up with a SOLID backup plan. As you may recall — Boi suffered a patellar tendon tear back in May while jumping around during a concert in Illinois … and required knee surgery. BB was at LAX yesterday rolling around in a wheelchair when he offered up the good news saying he can finally put pressure on his knee again … which means, no more bangin’ restrictions. Big Boi wasn’t completely deprived of his favorite position during his recovery though … telling us he got crafty and figured out a way around the dilemma … all thanks to a trusty piece of furniture. Reports of Boi’s leg injury turned into a hot topic back in late May.
Big Boi is going to have to stay off of the road due to a torn patella in his left knee suffered while performing on May 26 in Chillicothe, Illinois at Summer Camp Fest, his publicist confirms to Billboard. The rapper–one half of hip-hop duo Outkast–has been out promoting his December 2012 solo album “Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.” (Billboard)
The nasty spill also forced him to make last-minute changes to summer tour dates.
“#backoutcheain6weeks,” he hasttagged on his Instagram feed earlier today after posting a shot of himself in good spirits in a wheelchair. He’ll be on his feet in no time, he promises. Big Boi’s nationwide headlining Shoes For Running tour was packed with June 2013 dates, which have now been postponed to September. The confirmed rescheduled dates will be on his website shortly. Last month, Big revealed a bunch of upcoming guest collaborations were are all in the works.
The former OutKast member has been busy–even with his leg in a brace–collaborating with just about every artist under the sun, besides Andre 3000. “I’m recording a lot right now,” Big Boi reveals, “working with Janelle Monae on her new record that’s coming out, which is going to be one of the dopest album’s of the year… believe that. I’m doing a remix of ‘Electric Lady’ with Cee-Lo Green [for Monae].” As for his own next offering, Daddy Fat Sax says, “I’m about to do a big collaboration album with Phantogram. We just started production on that. I got a lot of big surprises coming up.” While some surprises are best left unsaid, Big Boi spills he’s gearing up to shoot three more videos from his Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors album. “I’m about to shoot the video for ‘Raspberries.’ [featuring Mouche and Scar], gonna do the video with Little Dragon for ‘Descending’ and maybe one for ‘Tremendous Damage’ [featuring Bosko].” (VIBE)
