Grammy-winning singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter‘s Lemonade backup singer Ruby Amanfu has stepped forward to speak out on contributing to the chart-topping album.

Ruby called the surprise album release has nothing less than a work of art.

“For me this album is about recognition. Recognition for one’s courage, patience, but most of all, of one’s power. Women are more resilient than we are often given credit for. We handle a lot more than we are given credit for. When I say “handle,” I don’t just mean that we bear more — I mean in the sense that in the face of obstacles that need to be dealt with, we are often the ones who do the behind-the-scenes dirty work to make sure that everyone is happy and that everything remains business as usual. Amanfu also spoke on Queen Bey discussing infidelity and related it to her own life.

“When you look up the definition of infidelity you see that it encompasses all manner of unfaithfulness and disloyalty. I was late to the dating game by some standards. I had my first real beau when I was 19. That first real relationship taught me all I need to know — I’m rolling my eyes.” (Billboard)

Bey’s new album has crushed its competition atop the sales chart.

The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. Columbia megastar and Queen of the Universe Beyoncé has topped the HITS Album Sales Chart with around 501k for Lemonade. On the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart, she snagged an additional 163k, bringing that grand total to 664k. And if you break the SPS number down, it’s approximately 92k TEA (with huge single sales) and 76k SEA. (HITS Daily Double)

After initially coming out as a TIDAL streaming exclusive, Bey’s album arrived on digital retailers iTunes and Amazon this week.

Tidal holdouts can now experience Beyoncé’s latest. Lemonade is available to download on both iTunes and Amazon, after being sold exclusively on Tidal for 24 hours. The visual album, released Saturday, will continue to stream exclusively on Tidal, and will not be released to Apple Music or other streaming services. (USA Today)
