Grammy-winning singers Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson have been chosen to perform at tonight’s NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Image Awards.
The duo will also hit the stage with other mega superstars.
Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder and Will.i.am are among the top performers set for the ceremony. Other celebrities scheduled to take part include Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and Sean “Diddy” Combs. Halle Berry and screenwriter-actor Tyler Perry are hosts of the 40th annual Image Awards. (Associated Press)
Renowned singer Seal is also billed to perform.
Seal will take the stage at the NAACP Image Awards. The ceremony coincides with the NAACP’s 100th anniversary, and will kick-start the organization’s centennial celebration, which will last throughout 2009. The NAACP Image Awards show airs Thursday, February 12 at 8 PM ET on FOX. (Extra TV)
Hudson is up for various awards at the event.
Beyonce Knowles, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson are competing for outstanding female music artist and for best music video. They are also nominated for supporting film actress, Keys and Hudson for The Secret Life of Bees and Knowles for Cadillac Records. (Billboard)
She currently leads the showcase with the most nominations.
Hudson took home nods in both recording and motion picture categories, as did her direct competition–and onetime costars–Beyonce Knowles, who bagged six nods, and Alicia Keys, who earned four. (E! Online)
