Power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles-Carter are looking out for the less fortunate in light of their newborn daughter’s birth by donating their baby’s gifts to charity.
According to reports, the couple are donating gifts received from a slew of celebrities including rap star Kanye West and television mogul Oprah Winfrey.
It’s better to give than to receive and Beyoncé and Jay-Z are doing just that with many of the gifts given to their beautiful new baby Blue Ivy Carter. The superstar couple has received lavish gifts from their newborn from the likes of Kanye West, P. Diddy and Oprah Winfrey and have donated many of the gifts to charity for more less fortunate newborns and young mothers. Lil’ B.I.C. has become a philanthropist her first week in the world. Additional information claims the gifts are being given for young mothers.
“They’ve been sent literally hundreds of gifts in the past few days,” the source says. “Oprah Winfrey gave a huge trunk of children’s books and others like P. Diddy, Kanye West, Rihanna and Mariah Carey have all been sending luxurious baby treats. Jay-Z and Beyonce have decided to donate a massive selection of the presents to local charities for young mothers. They’ve already got the most precious gift – their new baby daughter – so they want to help out other parents who haven’t been as fortunate.” (Hollyscoop)
The couple welcomed their first child earlier this month.
They released an official statement on Monday, writing, “We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.” “Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven,” they add in the statement. “She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs. and it was the best experience of both of our lives.” (The Hollywood Reporter)
Prior to the statement, Jay released a song, “Glory,” dedicated to his daughter.
“False alarms and false starts/All made better by the sound of your heart/All the pain of the last time/I prayed so hard it was the last time/Your mama said that you danced for her/Did you wiggle your hands for her?/Glory! Glory! Glory! Sorry../Everything that I prayed for/God’s gift, I wish I would’ve prayed more/God makes no mistakes, I made a few/Rough sledding here and there, but I made it through/I wreak havoc on the world, get ready for part 2/A younger, smarter faster me/So a pinch of Hov, a whole glass of Bé” (“Glory”)
