Married couple Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Jay-Z have released a statement on the birth of their newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, and clarified details surrounding what took place over the weekend.
Much to the contrary of weekend reports, Beyonce did not give a C-section birth.
They released an official statement on Monday, writing, “We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.” “Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven,” they add in the statement. “She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs. and it was the best experience of both of our lives.” (The Hollywood Reporter)
Prior to the statement, Jay released a song, “Glory,” dedicated to his daughter.

The couple welcomed Blue Ivy Carter late Saturday (January 7) night.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcomed a daughter Saturday night in New York, the little one’s arrival coming via scheduled C-section, mutliple sources confirm to E! News. And the pop ‘n’ hip-hop princess’ name? Drumroll, please… Blue Ivy Carter! (At least that’s what Jay-Z is telling pals at this point–the couple’s reps have not immediately responded to calls seeking comment.) (E! News)

Beyonce definitely still has a bun in the oven! There was speculation over the holidays about whether the 30-year-old singer had given birth, but Jay-Z’s pregnant wife put the rumors to rest when she stepped out in NYC Thursday clutching her huge baby bump. Wearing skinny jeans, gold heels, an ornate scarf and black blazer, Beyonce was all smiles as a bodyguard accompanied her out of a New York office building. (Us Magazine)
