Former Roc-A-Fella artist Beanie Sigel has reportedly been charged with committing tax fraudulence dating back nearly ten years ago.
Details on Sigel’s financial woes hit the Internet Wednesday (October 6).
Rapper Beanie Sigel (SEE’-gul) is facing criminal charges for alleged tax fraud. Federal prosecutors in Philadelphia say the entertainer born Dwight Grant made $1.5 million from 2002 to 2004, but filed no tax returns. The tax charges come in a federal information filed Wednesday. That typically indicates a defendant’s cooperation. Sigel’s lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment. (Associated Press)
Despite a criminal background, Sigel has promoted non-violence for his Philadelphia hometown in recent years.
Sigel has served time on drug and weapons charges, and for prescription drug use while on federal probation. But he has also led anti-violence rallies in his hometown and spoken to high school students about life choices. Sigel’s albums include “The Truth,” ”The B. Sigel recently made headlines after dissing ex-labelmates Jay-Z and Kanye West on a freestyle.

Earlier in the same month, Sigel performed a freestyle diss of Jay’s “Already Home”, targeting the rap mogul at a Philadelphia concert.
