[With his new “My Partner” blazing up the Internet and a long-awaited “Accession To The Throne” EP coming out under hip-hop veteran Bang Em Smurf’s Feed Da Wolves label, North Carolina rapper Banknote Mitch breaks down the message behind his project’s cover art.]
I decided to put new artwork together for my “Accession To The Throne” EP. I want everyone to see it so I’m putting it out to the public. Bang Em Smurf gave me the green light to put it out there.
I’m going to be honest. The reason I named the project “Accession To The Throne” is because I feel like I’m the new “King of the South.”
That’s where I’m coming from.
Believe me, once you hear this? I’m certified.

This artwork took some time. I was rushing with a lot of my other projects but Bang Em was the one who taught me to go slow and everything came out better.
People in New York say it’s the crown down and even in California, the say it’s the crown down. In the South, we don’t do that. So I’m going to have to take it. Point. Period. Blank.
