Baby said the entire crew is anxious to have him return home from Rikers Island.

“It’s a big difference now without [Lil Wayne] but we doing what we gotta do. He’ll be home in a minute,” Baby said in an interview. “You can’t ever replace him. We do as much as we can without him and we just waiting for him to come home…You always gotta say big things [are coming from Young Money]. All our releases this year — I think Drake‘s album is one of the biggest excitements of the year. I think Nicki Minaj‘s album is a big excitement of the year…I would probably be one of the happiest men on Earth the day that my son comes home. That’s the biggest excitement for all of us as Young Money/Cash Money and as our families is the day Wayne come home.” (VIBE)

Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy recently went and visited the rapper in jail.

Rap mega-star Lil Wayne – locked up on a gun conviction – brought in at least one more bold-faced name this week: Diddy. The music mogul stopped by the Eric M. Taylor correctional facility to visit Lil Wayne on Wednesday. Diddy, born Sean Combs, even swapped his luxury wheels for the public bus like all the other visitors Wednesday. Diddy was on a pre-approved list to see Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr., and the chat was limited to an hour, sources said. (New York Daily News)

Wayne was sentenced to a year behind bars last March.

Lil Wayne has been sentenced to a year in jail after pleading guilty in a New York City gun case. The Grammy Award-winning rapper was taken away in handcuffs to start serving his term immediately after his sentencing. He’ll serve his sentence in city jails, not a state prison. He could be released in about eight months with good behavior. (CBS News)

Recent reports claim ex-Rikers Island guard Amelia Negron was terminated for spying on Wayne.

Negron admits she did go into the unit, but denies she was there to see the rapper – who is serving a year-long sentence on gun possession charges – insisting she wanted to speak to a colleague. The 33 year-old is adamant the charges against her aren’t true – and she’s consulting lawyers over plans to file suit against her former bosses at the prison. A spokesman for the Correction Department claims Negron’s dismissal was “entirely appropriate”. (Contact Music)
