Cash Money Records CEO Birdman and Lil Wayne's daughters will show off their pen game later this year in a new joint novel called Paparazzi Princesses.
Slated to drop in early June, Bria Williams and Reginae Carter‘s book centers on a couple of daughters dealing with the ups and downs of teenage life.
Now, instead of relying on Instagram and Twitter as most of their peers do, their story is told in their new novel “Paparazzi Princess” through the characters of Kyla Jones and Promise Walker. On their journey to becoming their own women, the novel’s main characters face their parent’s high expectations, the pitfalls of being “unintentionally famous,” and, most crucially, the trials and tribulations of high school, homework, crushes, and friendship that everyone goes through. A collaboration with author Karyn Langhorne Folan, it’s bound to be a page-turner for teens and young adults everywhere. (Talking With Tami)
Both Birdman and Weezy F. Baby have issued statements on the collaborative project.
“There’s no better feeling than watching Bria and Reginae make this dream come true. They took an idea, worked extremely hard, and brought it to life. It’s the kind of story that everybody can feel, and it’s only the start of much bigger things for these two wonderful young ladies,” Birdman said in a statement. “I’ve got to be honest. It’s inspiring to see what these girls have done. It wasn’t easy, and they did it all by themselves. ‘Proud’ doesn’t even begin to describe how me and the ‘Birdman’ feel. I can’t wait for everybody else to experience their story.” (Statement)
The news comes just weeks after Wayne confirmed his daughter is signed to Young Money.
“Yup,” Wayne said in an interview when asked if his daughter is really signed to Young Money. “I’d expect my daughter to be the bigger person in that situation — I can’t change nobody’s personal opinion. I can’t change nobody’s personal view. I can just keep doing what I do and keep putting food on the table for my family and that’s what I’m going to do no matter what.” (99 Jamz)
A couple years ago, Wayne’s ex-wife Toya Carter spoke to SOHH about Reginae making music with the rap star.
“Yes, Reginae is very talented,” Toya told SOHH. “She is very talented, smart and wise beyond her years. And I know Wayne feels the same way, that she’s a star. [Her future?] It’s really whatever she wants to do. She been doing music with her dad lately. As long as she’s doing what she has to do in school and making good grades, I’ll support anything else.” (SOHH)
