Cypress Hill‘s B-Real, Murs, Tech N9ne and more have been announced as rappers set to perform at the upcoming “Paid Dues” festival in California.
Murs has expressed his excitement over the upcoming showcase.
“This year’s ‘Paid Dues’ line-up is very special to me because we have acts like Tech N9ne and Atmosphere who I’ve been big fans of and also trying to book forever. The So-Cal return of E & A, who haven’t played the NOS since the legendary Wu Tang reunion at the 2004 Rock The Bells — I just can’t believe this is our fourth year! I am so thankful to all our family, friends and supporters. And I look forward to making this March 28th another great and memorable moment in hip hop history,” Murs said in a statement. This year’s fourth annual event will feature a lyrical line-up of rappers.
Rapper Murs, who curates the Guerilla Union-sponsored indie rap event, has tapped Minneapolis’ Atmosphere and Brother Ali, as well as Kansas City’s Tech N9ne, to lead the bill. Others on the roster include Living Legends, B-Real, LMNO, Grouch & Eligh, Cage, Blu & Exile, DJ Val the Vandal, Eyedea & Abilities, Verbs and the Bayliens. (Los Angeles Times)
Last year’s sold-out event prompted Murs to add-on additional dates throughout summer 2008.
The PAID DUES independent hip-hop festival has expanded throughout June with a festival series in New York, Ft. Lauderdale, Denver and San Francisco. After wrapping up its third sold-out annual Southern California festival date on March 22, artists included on the line-up such as Little Brother and Buckshot will appear on these additional festival series dates as well. Also confirmed to join on select dates are Rakim, GZA and more.
“Paid Dues” takes place at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino on March 28. Tickets are available through www.ticketmaster.com
