Ray J Comes Up Short, Rick Ross Still Boss, Trina Goes From Bad To Worst

In this week's Hip-Hop and R&B charts Ray J doesn't shag the top spot from British sensation Leona Lewis, Rick Ross keeps it trilla and Trina dips it low.

Discovered by American Idol's Simon Cowell British import, Leona Lewis first invaded the US shores with her smash single "Bleeding Love." Now, the sultry songstress tops the charts this week at No. 1, with her debut Spirit scanning 205,400 copies, according to the Nielsen SoundScan. Lewis is the first U.K. solo artist to debut at No. 1. and becomes the first Brit female solo act to sit on top of Billboard 200 since Sade's Promise snagged the top standing in 1986.

Ray J will no longer be referred to as Brandy's little brother, as his sophomore set All I Feel debuts at No. 7 this week. With the success of his lead single "Sexy Can I" featuring Yung Berg heating up the air waves, the infamous singer pushed 39,200 his first week.

After five weeks, Def Jam recording artist Rick Ross remains in the Top 10, and climbs one spot to No. 8. With 34,200 copies of Trilla sold, the "Boss" sophomore set is approaching gold at 416,400.

Diddy's girls Danity Kane continue to slip, clocking in at the No. 10 spot. Welcome to the Dollhouse sold 27,700 this week. With a 41% drop in sales the Making the Band starlets still hold a significant lead on their male counterparts, scanning 399,400 copies.

With the success of her smash single "No Air" featuring Chris Brown, "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks, surges to No. 17 this week. The self-titled Gold debut has experienced 27% increase, scanning 24,300 copies, pushing the songstress' total is 655,400.

After debuting with the number one album in the country, "Making The Band" reality stars, Day 26, bow out of the Top 10 this week, coming in at No. 18. The soul-singing quintet's self-titled debut pushed 23,900 copies, experiencing a 53% decrease in album sales. In three weeks, the group has amassed 265,000.

Flo Rida's debut Mail on Sunday continues to slide down the charts coming in at No. 22. After making history with selling over 3 million digital downloads of his infectious single "Low," the Poe Boy/ Atlantic recording artist pushed 21,000 copies this week, experiencing a drop in sales by 25%. After three weeks, the download king's total is 168,700.

After her controversial conspiracy theories caused a stir, Alicia Keys has climbed two spots to No. 24. The singer/activist sold 18,900 copies her smash album As I Am. Her third studio album has scanned an outstanding 3,382,200 copies in 22 weeks.

Gnarls Barkley sophomore album The Odd Couple drops three spots to No. 27 this week, with 18,300 copies sold. After four weeks the album has scanned 101,400.

After debuting last week on top of the charts with her fourth studio album Still Da Baddest, Trina plunges to No. 28 this week. The diamond princess set has experienced a 61% decrease, only pushing 18,200 copies for a total of 65,000.

Snoop Dogg's Ego Trippin, dives eight spots to No. 30 this week. The Doggfather's ninth studio album is experiencing a decrease of 23% in sales. After the five weeks, the set has amassed 263,900.

British crooner, Amy Winehouse comes in at No. 35 this week after moving 16,100 copies of her Grammy award winning album, Back to Black. After 57 weeks on the charts, Winehouse is approaching the double-platinum mark at 1,879,400.

Teen-sensation, Chris Brown climbs two spots to No. 37 with 15,400 copies of his sophomore set, Exclusive sold this week. After 23 weeks, Brown has reached 1,462,300 in sales.

"The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul," Mary J. Blige moves to No. 39, selling 14,000 copies of Growing Pains. After 17 weeks, Blige's eighth disc has scanned 1,407,400 albums.

Keyshia Cole falls to No. 42 this week, with 12,994 copies of her sophomore album Just Like You scanned. After 29 weeks, the set has amassed a grand total of 1,331,300 in sales.

Next week look for Mariah Carey to make an appearance on the charts.
