Mary J. Blige has doled out $12.3 million dollars in cash for a Saddle River, N.J. dreamhouse.
Blige got the mansion at a relative steal after the house, which originally went on the market at $17 mil, dropped in price, according to New York's Daily News.
The newly constructed home is 18,250 square feet and boasts eight bedrooms, a 14-seat movie theater, a fitness center, a hardwood basketball court and an elevator.
The swanky pad, modeled after a French country manor, sits on 4.2 acres and also features a gourmet kitchen, eight bathrooms, a spiral staircase and a wine tasting room.
The Grammy-winning artist who has sold more than 40 million records will be in good company, claiming rappers Ja Rule, Wyclef Jean and the Rev. Run of Run-DMC as nearby neighbors.
Though the real estate broker who sold the property, Dennis McCormack, tried to keep the new owner's identity private by denying he knew who bought the house, his competitors said it was no secret.
"Everybody knows Mary J. Blige bought the house," the source said. "He [McCormack] may have signed a confidentiality agreement, but the buzz was out the minute she and her husband saw the house."
Still, for all the area's stars, the neighborhood is said to be fairly quiet.
"It's nice to know Mary J. Blige is moving to the area," resident Sandy Miller, who was at the local post office Wednesday, told the Daily News. "Everyone here is private, secluded and respects each other's space."
Mary and her husband, record-industry exec. Kendu Isaacs, are not expected to move in anytime soon, but according to sources, the two do plan to change the landscaping, add more security and possibly remodel a few garages to make room for Mary's tour bus.
Blige is currently co-headlining on the Heart of the City tour with Jay-Z.
