Rick Ross Nabs No. 1 Spot Over Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe's "Elephant" Quiet As A Mouse

In this week's Hip-Hop and R&B charts, Rick Ross is boss at No. 1 while Snoop Dogg and Fat Joe settle for top ten debuts.

Ross dodged the sophomore jinx as his second album Trilla is on top of the charts. "Speedin" past his "Super Tuesday" competition, Snoop Dogg and Fat Joe, Ross' Trilla snagged the No. 1 spot with an astonishing 198,000 units sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Snoop Dogg's Ego Trippin, enters the charts at No. 3, moving 137,000 copies in its first week. Anchored by the smash single "Sensual Seduction," the Doggfather's ninth studio album was executive produced by the super-producer collective QDT- DJ Quik, Snoop and Teddy Riley.

Fat Joe might have put "the beats" on Papoose, but he wasn't able to put the smack down on the charts. Joe's The Elephant in the Room debuted at No. 6 with 46,000 copies sold, garnering less attention than expected. Released independently under Terror Squad Entertainment/Imperial Records, Joe's eight studio album features guest appearances from Lil' Wayne, J. Holiday and Plies.

After topping the charts with her tenth studio album Discipline, Janet Jackson has dropped fives spots to No. 8. With 37,600 copies sold the R&B legend has amassed 276,400 albums in three weeks.

Erykah Badu hangs on to her Top Ten ranking coming in at No. 9. Badu's critically acclaimed New Amerykah Part One (4th World War) scanned 34,800 copies this week pushing her total albums sales to 200,400.

After 18 weeks, Alicia Keys has finally surrendered her reign in the Top 10. The piano women slid down to No. 13 this week, experiencing a 17% drop in sales of As I Am. However, her third studio album is still dominating overall sales with 3,277,200 albums sold.

"Rehab" songstress, Amy Winehouse exits the Top 10 this week as well, coming in at 14 with 28,400 copies sold. After 53 weeks on the charts Winehouse's Grammy Award winning album, Back to Black, is approaching the double-platinum mark at 1,798,000.

Teen heartthrob, Chris Brown, falls down six spots to No. 22 with 21,000 copies of his sophomore set, Exclusive sold this week. After 19 weeks, Brown has reached 1,388,000 in sales.

The Queen of Hip-Hop soul, Mary J. Blige pops in at No. 23, selling 20,700 copies of Growing Pains. After thirteen weeks, Blige's eighth disc has scanned 1,342,000 albums.

Keyshia Cole is No. 27 this week, with 18,900 copies of her sophomore album Just Like You sold. The Bay area beauty has amassed 1,267,900 albums sold.

Louisiana rapper Webbie holds down the No. 29 spot with his sophomore album, Savage Life 2. Featuring the catchy street single "Independent," the disc sold 18,400 this week pushing album sales to 119,900.

"American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks continues to moves up at No.32 with her self-titled debut. Thanks to infectious single "No Air," featuring Chris Brown the album has scanned 572,000 copies in total.

Def Jam singer/songwriter, The-Dream climbs five spots this week to No. 36 with his debut album Love/Hate. With 16,400 albums pushed this week, the man behind Rihanna's "Umberella" and J. Holiday's "Bed" has seen his grand total rise to 292,700.

Lupe Fiasco's The Cool continues to cool off, coming in at No. 41 this week selling 15,200 units. The sophomore set is nearing gold status scanning 407,700 albums after 13 weeks.

Black Eyed Pea singer gone solo, Fergie continues to move units after being on the charts for an impressive 78 weeks. Fergalicious is No. 47 this week, moving 14,126 copies of her album The Dutchess, which has scanned 3,5113,900 overall.

Next week look for Flo Rida, Danity Kane, and Rocko to impact the charts.
