After months of being courted by multiple labels,Chicago native and female rap newcomer Kid Sister has announced plans to release her full-length debut KoKo B. Ware via Downtown Records/Fool's Gold.

An independent record label and music publishing company, Downtown's roster includes Gnarls Barkley, Mos Def, Spank Rock, Justice and Santogold among others. Downtown Music Publishing owns or controls over 1,500 titles recorded by artists including Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent. Downtown is also a joint venture partner in RCRD LBL, an online, totally ad-supported digital music label which will offer free downloads in a blog format.

In related news Kid Sister hits MTV's "TRL" stage today (Feb. 28) as part of the show's "Spankin' New Ladies Week. A video for her first single "Pro Nails" which features Kanye West is currently in rotation on MTV and BET. [Watch "Pro Nails" video here]

Her debut album Koko B.Ware is scheduled for release in summer 2008.
