Following a recent post on his MySpace page, SOHH caught up with NY rapper Saigon to get the inside scoop on the problems he's facing with Atlantic Records.

If you've been wondering when Saigon's highly-anticipated debut album, The Greatest Story Never Told will finally see the light of day, you're not alone. Signed to Just Blaze's Fort Knocks/Atlantic imprint, it's been reported that Saigon has had the album completed for two years already. After lashing out at Atlantic on MySpace and threatening to release the album with or without their permission, SOHH got to the heart of the label limbo issue.

"I don't even know anymore. It's like working at a regular job and your boss is not communicating with you. [Atlantic] tells me different stuff everyday," the rapper said. "My thing is, it didn't have to get to this point where the public knows. They're gonna put me on the shelf until I'm no longer relevant. Out of sight - out of mind. Hip-Hop fans are not loyal. As soon as the new dude comes along, they're going. I had the most anticipated album in '05 and now it's about to be '08 and it's the same thing. The frustration has been so much, I can't even front."

The album in question, which Sai calls a "classic," features guest appearances from Jay-Z, Layzie Bone, Faith Evans, Devin The Dude, Trey Songz, Q-Tip, Fatman Scoop and beats primarily by Just Blaze, with additional help by Kanye West, Buckwild and CoCo Chanel. And though he has threatened to leak the material himself, the MC says that it isn't likely that he'll take that route.

"It's not a for real option because I don't have the means [to distribute] and they own that album. They paid to have it recorded. So I wouldn't release that album but I got my own songs without Just Blaze, that I did with local producers who got heat that I can put out on the net," he says. "That album is like my baby, like Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt, Nas' Illmatic or Biggie's Ready to Die. All they care about is the quick buck, but I'm not the quick buck artist. I'm the new P.E.[Public Enemy] and they just want the jingle and it's not gonna come. I don't want people to think it was ever me. It wasn't me. At this point, it's in God's hands."

While his album may be in jeopardy, his acting career is not. Having recently signed on with the prestigious William Morris Agency, Sai is currently fielding several scripts including one for the film "Rock and Roller" written by Madonna's husband Guy Ritchie, and another named "Con Rail," which is set to feature some A-list Hollywood names. Not easily intimidated by more seasoned actors, Saigon is eager to show off his acting chops.

"I like acting and the challenge of coming outside of yourself. People think that hip-hoppers can only play that one urban, gritty role so all my roles will be outside the box, not just for Saigon but for a rapper period. You'd think Denzel [Washington] had to play these roles."

Preparing for his latest role as a judge alongside DJ Green Lantern and 9th Wonder for Music Nation's unsigned talent competition, where artists will compete for a deal with Epic Records, Sai is vowing to do his best Simon Cowell impression.

"I like to see the new talent and see people get an opportunity to display their talent. It's like 'American Idol' and sh*t, for the hood. Plus, I like to see who's on the come up and who's bubbling on the underground because you never know, somebody might be coming to try and take my spot."
